    N90 FHDRK

    Hi to all,

could someone please tell me if a M6 pro rom can be flashed on a Yuandao N90 FHD RK (3188 retina 9.7") tablet?
As I downoaded this rom and a bit afraid of bricking my tab....I already tried Visture and Xoro roms with no prob at all but never tried a Pipo rom.

    Thank you very much

I can't tell you yes or no. There are different hardware components in each. It may not boot, or something won't work right.

        GPS test result

Here is my GPS test result with the latest KitKat release (Feb 13rd)...

As you can see GPS is now WORKING on kitkat!
(not in the best way though, the sensitivity is quite low..)

Very cool. I will see if we can crank up the power on the GPS.

It could be a problem of my antenna (I moved from its place a couple of time...).

Now I need your rooted rom to prepare modified kernels for me and the rest of the M6pro community and to use Titanium backup!
On kitkat the sparkytool seems not working to root the tablet!

thank you for answering....but if I try to flash it and it doesn't work all, can the tablet be easily restored to its previous state by reflashing the former rom in the same way?

                  Thx.

Ultimately, yes you can. But, in a worst case scenario...the firmware experiment might brick your tablet.

Rockchip devices are almost impossible to permanently brick, but you have to be willing to open the back and short some pins on your NAND chip to get into Mask Mode to restore the previous working ROM. That's enough to scare some people off of such experimentation.

Just realize that there are many combinations of wifi chips, touch screens, bluetooth, GPS receivers, displays, gyro's....everything has it's own required driver to operate. While some of the drivers are in the system.img file and can be ported over...there are several devices with drivers embedded in the kernel.

Whatever you do, you must use the kernel for the device you have...

If you luck out, and get the tablet to boot with the other firmware, then you have to track down all of the individual components to get working...and then, when you are done...you may have half of each ROM as the result.

Oma makes some pretty decent ported ROM's that are based on other devices' firmware...but this process is very time consuming...and you must have the tablet to test it on. It's like finding a needle in a haystack. Very meticulous.

Today, I'm working on v1.8 for the M6 Pro. I'll be testing it, but I know that everything is designed to work on the M6 Pro. I'm confident that when I'm finished it will be reliable. That's why I stick with official factory firmware. Since I started cooking ROM's, yes...I have attempted several times to port other ROM's over to Pipo devices...and so far, I've only been able to get ONE to work...and only after some extensive help from Finless Bob.

                      It seems ok,
it is quite slow on screen rotation only. Probaly this aspect needs further optimization.

                        Hi Randy & Giouncino,

Could you tell us if there is multi-user option available in this new release ?

Thanks a lot for your hard work ;-)

It is "on going", this is the reason why it is still not present here!!!

As soon as I get a beta running, I'll post a test link.

I'm still waiting on new boot screens from Tattman65...but I think I have everything I need.

I'm also testing a version of TWRP for this tablet.
