Pipo M6 Pro RileyROM 1.7 KitKat

    One question about Titanium back up. I usually click on “Backup all user apps + system data" and I do it over and over again when I install new apps or do any changes in my tablet.

    Before I flash a new rom I do it once more and after the new rom is installed I click on "restore all user apps+system data". Is this right or should I do it as Randy says ?

      I can confirm this works with sumvision 2 9.7 if any wants to try and here a link to original firmware i got from sumvisions tec support http://www.mediafire.com/download/rs...ager+2+9.7.rar if want to go back thanks for the rom rrileypm

        Cheers it's good to know. Thanks for the original FW too even though I have no idea why anyone would ever want to go back to that!

            Yesterday i tried to reboot my m6 pro in recovery mode, now i can't escape from the cmw recovery menu, i press reboot recovery but it always enter in the cmw, i'm desperate. the bacth tool don't detect the device. someone help me

              I had the same problem you need to reset it on the back with a pin then hold down the + button and press the power button which will put you into download mode and then reflash

                spawnofdonny you are my saver! thank you very much. Use this function with the pipo is a trap, In my smartphone i installed cwm but i've never had problems like this.

                    The problem with restoring all system data is that sometimes the newer firmware changes the format of the system data. This is definitely the case with KitKat. If you restore your Jellybean backup over a fresh KitKat installation...you risk overwriting files that are specific to making KitKat work properly.

                    I always restore missing apps with data. This selection only restores the apps you select to restore...with only the data associated with those apps.

                    Doing it this way...you have a better chance of keeping the grimlins out.

                      Currently, CWM doesn't address the new partition structure of KitKat.

                      KitKat has introduced a new metadata partition that has not appeared in Jellybean. It took me a while to find it.

                      In order to use CWM to make NAND backups again...we need a KitKat compatible version. I have looked and can't find an adjustment. The CWM binary within recovery.img must be rewritten for this.

                      Maybe Fun or another CWM developer will put out an update soon.

                      I went ahead and included CWM with this ROM because I thought we could still use some of the other features...like installing apps from SD card. I haven't tested it to see what still works and what doesn't.

                      Please post your experiences with the other features here.

                      We are still discovering new things about KitKat together...so please report your findings. We are all beta testers at this point. And I have a feeling that Pipo IS watching........

                        So if some PIPO guys are reading, here are some issues I've found:

                        - DEEP SLEEP for 3G models also with KitKat STILL doesn't work (old errors are hard to loose...)
                        - I switched on ART after the TB restore and now every power-on remains for 10 minutes in "optimising system" for 61 apps. I supposed it is performed only once, but this happens EVERY boot... It also mantains CPU at 1.2Ghz for 10 minutes...
                        - Sometimes during optimization the tablet just freeze. I needed to use the reset and wait another 10 minutes for power-on.
                        - Rotation of the screen is not so fast...
                        - Scrolling of pages (for example settings) is a little laggy
                        - Some apps doesn't work: Faster GPS and AdAway for example doesn't work any more.
                        - To reduce the brightness under minimum I used an app called "screen filter": with this rom if I enable it, general perfomance decrease dramatically!
                        - It happens once a reboot of tablet during browsing.

                        All happened with stock Kernel. I used my modified kernel until the first problem, than I reverted back on stock kernel, but nothing has changed. So the problem is due to the "BETA" status of this release.

                        Of course none of the previous problem were present on latest Jelly Bean ROM.

                          By chance, is your external SD formatted FAT32 or NTFS? I have not encountered a lock up, yet...and my external SD is NTFS.

                              I use external SD only to restore a backup. After that I REMOVE it and I've never insert any SD so far.

                              And, Randy, sorry to ask you again: could you please post the stock bootanimation.zip for 4.4.2?

                                If any is trying ART have look at this list first http://www.androidruntime.com/list not all apps are work yet

                                Adaway is working fine for me have you tried clearing the app data from adaway and update it again i had a similar problems with my galaxy s2
