Have you tried to flash rom again?
It's important to press "Restore" not "Update" button in Flash Tool.

If this error persist, you could try to switch to 720p kernel under Android Settings/pureXBMC/Advanced/Switch Resolution.

Your box will boot up with 720p kernel after about 15sec. Please try and report back.

      NO WIFI CX-919

I can't enable my wifi. Every time I enable it it tries to start and then it turns itself off. I want to give your firm a try on my cx-919 but without wifi is useless to me. What do you recommend?

As i told, this rom is only for CX-921 with RTL8188 wifi chip. For CX-919 you can try to flash just another kernel for your device.

As default rom boots up in 1080p mode, so you can flash a 1080p kernel direct after you flashed the rom.
I think the better way for CX-919 would be to switch rom to 720p mode after first boot. Go to android settings, pureXBMC, Advanced, switch resolution. When device boots up in 720p mode turn it of. Now set device to flash mode and just flash 720p kernel on top of my rom.

You can find non overclocked kernels here ( my recommendation ):

Flash tool, how to and kernels are inside finless rom.

If you can try it this way, tell me if it will work.
Perhaps i could cook a "pureXBMC" 720p version for CX-919. You can try 1080p mode too, but i think device will be a bit to slow, cause XBMC is not fully hardware accelerated.

TY for the respond Walter, I have ran out of roms to make my cx-919 play stream xbmc content without jitter or stutter. The Bob's 1.6b is the only one of his that my cx-919 puts out signal. Unfortunately, frames are dropped even with the kernels that have a fix???

So far the Ouya version of xbmc is the only one that gives me less stutter but frames are still dropped on fast panning or action. Kinda disappointing for a so called quad core stick?? I haven't fully tested yours but gonna give your suggestion a try.

I think the 720p version could work as it does on my cx-921 with stock kernel.

              Reboot loop

So I flashed several sam's kernels and none worked with your rom. Everything else works & can be enable except wifi. Several times it caused a reboot loop. I notice (at least on my stick) the advance options to change resolution failed to reboot my device & makes my stick go into a no signal loop where I have to unplug it.

                Sorry for that.

So tell me, from all the roms you've tested, which rom works best on your stick and please send me the link to it, so i can download and have a look on it.

                  Stock 4.1.1

Unfortunately, the stock 4.1.1 is the snappiest & more stable rom I have tested. I can only flash this straight as Bob's version of this rom gives me no signal. I have tried different combinations of Sam's kernels on top of the stock 4.1.1 version but it doesn't help at all.

I have also tested it with XAF version of xbmc & max player (which is a sure thing) but even that is giving me stutter. I'm beginning to think my stick is defective. My POS Uhost A1 plays 720P streams with XAF flawlessly but this quad core can't handle crap apparently????

Ya! variants of the 4.2.2 do work as well as beta kit kat but they are not snapy nor offer a real fix with the stutter of video streaming. I have been able to bring the frame dropping & stuttering to a minimum but I notice it & it takes from the viewing pleasure of watching movies.

I spend more time testing than watching; def not what I was expecting!!!

Yeah, i know what you mean. I spend so much time with my box, nothing worked really nice, except my "pureXBMC" rom is perfect. A really good player is BSPlayer free, turn rendering to internal. It's even better than MX player and with build in network streaming over smb.

Uhmmm!!!! I love testing but at some point or another you want to see results and you want them to progress into positive results. I'm giving up on my cx-919 stick by the minute. I friend of mine had an Apple Tv1 laying around so he let me borrow it and I already had a 970015 on hand from another project. Boy!! what a difference as far as what I called "silky smooth" not what some here "think" is "silky"

No stutter, jitter or frame skipping. I find Crystalbuntu works a little bit faster the Openlec. The only Android box that I know that can do smooth streaming is the MX2 Midnight which I gave away a long time ago for lack of support. I have a collection of these cheap Arm Androids and I end up giving them away to my family and friends. The reason why I bought the CX-919 was because some here (including Bob) said that it was the fastest stick they've tried?? Still have not been able to get "silky smooth" 720P video via XBMC.

I know what you mean. Any Android Device i've used for the last 5 years was really beta and buggy. That's why i build up my own rom for my needs. I think there are really big differences in hardware, even on the same devices. My CX-921 tv-box works really smooth and i'm an audio and video professional and i know what is smooth playback.
I wish you a lot of fun with your new devices.

Yesterday i found a Plex Beta for my 2013 LG Smart TV. Man!! It's perfect!! I've just installed plex server on my synology nas.

                              Hi Walter77,

i'm back after many testing time.
I have the same Problem : "when put to sleep it comes right back up and when put to sleep again doesn't come back on ...I have to unplug"

That is a small problem, the bigger problem ist Movies over smb.

                              You said:

I'm tested purexbmc and xaf xmbc with MxPlayer, BsPlayer, Archos Player and Rockplayer.
                              with extra HW Codecs
Any players can't play the mkv movies over smb.

What can i do, to play mkv 720p/1080p 5.1 dd/dts over smb?

                              Thank you

Hi I have a real problem - tearing my hair out kinda deal

I have a couple of CX-921's just in from geekbuying this week and my story goes like this.

About 2 months ago I got one and started flashing roms - worked great - but could no matter what I tried find a 6 / 8 or 10 parameter file that would work with this box - the 1, 2 and 4 parameter files all worked fine. So to cut a long story short, I eventually figured out the solution was actually to switch out the bootloader from the standard RK3188Loader(L)_V1.24.bin to version V1.20 - this worked, but my problem is that I just got in 2 more boxes for the family - and now all of a sudden I have the same issue.

It's really screwing with my mind - what used to work - does so no longer - the same box - the same flash util - same rom - same parameter file - but all it does is hang at the loading screen. If I switch out the parameter file for the 4 then it all plays nice and boots etc, but 6 / 8 or 10 does not.
I am using the - Ugoos_UT1_RileyFinlessROM_v1.0a - rom and this parameter file :-

Or more to the point this is the one I would like to use or more over the 6gb version. I am posting this here because I see mucho discusion about the CX-921 in this thread and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if so does anyone have any answers. I gave my original box away and thought cool I will just blast my CWM image back onto these new boxes - but nope I can not get them to partition in the same way i.e. a 50/50 split of the nand.

The new XBMC D version of the rom mentioned in this thread works great with these new boxes and the remote works with no problems by the way - all thanks to walter.

Below is a copy of the 4gb parameter file that works on my CX-921 with the riley rom with no issues, but when I swap it out for the parameter file above - it just hangs at boot. Answers on a postcard please
