The reboot thing was just me nit picking, I am just so used to seeing the green reboot apk program being pre-installed. Anyway, as my technical knowledge of hex is limited (very) - If you do get around to doing a 6 parameter file then I will start looking for the donate button

Yes (in recent hours to enter bootloader) and No.

I've also checked my ethernet problem, and Wasser's kernels work fine in this respect (I haven't tried the passthrough yet though), there is, however, a significant drop in performance.

Really slow performance, can't explain that. I don't know the difference between new and old revision, but i think it's lan and wifi chipset ;-)

My kernel is just a 1080p patched and overclocked stock kernel.
Do you have a working 1080p stock kernel for your device?

WiFi works with your pureXBMC ROM, but I believe works better with Wasser's kernels (I can see more networks around me, but that does not matter, mi router is 40cm from the box).

I don't have any original kernels anymore - the one that was there from the box is gone (I didn't manage to back it up, and I thought I had a factory FW from the net, but it turned out to be not working) and besides it wa also just 720p upscale - if I can believe XBMC.

I've just tested your "d" with one of the Wasser's kernels (I guess it was kernel-k_r42_new_revision_cpu1800h_ddr800_1080p_gpu600h, 1800p@24Hz) and the passthrough works just fine, but the movie plays SLOWLY - the video is slower and the audio too, so that it makes voices different
...and now I've tested it @60Hz and it seems to be just fine...

I think I'll stick to it for now, I'll try to get the original FW from somewhere, just in case...

I only have 5.1 AC3/DTS movies, so i never tested a 5.1 AAC file.
This seems to be a XBMC related issue, have to look for this issue in minix forum.

Have you tried different audio settings in xbmc, 5.1 Speaker configuration for example?
Is your receiver AAC capable?

no receiver is AAC capable, as far as I know... AAC is basically a compressed AC3 sound track, so the player should be able to decompress it (just like the video track) and send it further as AC3 sound. And yes, it seems to by mainly XBMC thing, your ROM is however the one and only that has been able to produce AC3 sound from a non-AC3 (AAC in this case) source... I'm downloading some sound test videos, so I'll check the whole thing in a comprehensive way in a while.

Ok this is weird

So I got around at last to doing a comparison of your 8GB parameter file - and it is identical to mine - but when I use that parameter file on my 2 boxes with the - Ugoos_UT1_RileyFinlessROM_v1.0a - roms with either RK3188Loader(L)_V1.20.bin or 1.24 then both boxes just hang during boot. If I switch it out for the 4gb parameter file - then both boxes boot - I think I am going nuts.

And like I said this used to work on my old CX-921 - I swear the more I know about computers the more screwy they act.

Having issues with output

Hi

I don't know what's the problem, but the ROM sometimes loses the output via HDMI. It goes dark for a second or two and then it just keeps on playing the video, running an app.

I am using USB power, because the store sent the wrong power adapter, and when I used an old USB cable to AC with an USB power brick the unit crashed continuously.

Any ideas?

Forget this post - but the blinking problem can be fixed by changing the screen res.
