The reboot app in the rom already lets you boot into boot loader & recovery

The thing is that it's impossible to load the recovery when the system doesn't boot (infinite loop, etc...), the only physical button is for booting into bootloader.

Anyway, there is no KitKat rom for our devices flashable from any recovery, right?

No is the answer to that question. For me though, I still have to wonder why you couldn't just build the rom, the do a backup via TWRP and have that as the rom update. Zip it to get it as small as you can and then we could download, unzip, and move into the TWRP backup folder and then do a recover from that backup. I know it sounds easy to me and I'm guessing there is allot more to it than that.

          Recovery boot

Thanks for that. What I really want to do is to boot the device directly into recovery from a power off state. Seems like it's not possible at the moment. It would be much easier to restore a backup from TWRP rather than starting from afresh then using Titanium backup. TB is better than nothing but for instance a restore of xbmc never seems to restore my setup just a fresh version. Same with epsxe etc. I guess disaster recovery is just going to be time consuming at the moment.

            R: NEW - T428 KitKat Finless ROM 2.0

I have installed this rom but it cannot read the external SD card that is working on other devices.
Can it be a flash problem?

Mine reads a 16gb card no problem. I presume you've tried cleaning the contacts on the card? What size card (how many gb) are you trying? It could be that you're over the max size that is supported - I don't know what that is, but worth checking.

I have tried 2 different SD card (one 2gb and one 8gb) with the same result. When I type settings-memory it reads the card but when I download apk (I have tried only to do that) it say "to download this you need an SD card"
I have tried to flash it again the rom but when I start the device, android do ask me to re-configure it.

Not sure what you are saying - you can or cannot read the card? Anyway try a different download manager (eg Advanced Download Manager) and specify the download location. Actually the stock "Download" app on this Rom doesn't work for me at all (crashes).

I found out the solutions to the problem, I flashed again the rom and it worked.

                      Bad WiFi signal...

                      Hi all,

I have just installed this ROM, and I was very happy because it looked very fast but, unfortunately, when I tried to watch a video in streaming I noticed that the WiFi bandwidth was very low! The device is in the same position of yesterday - when I was mounting a 4.1 ROM - and although yesterday I could "see" 6-7 WiFi networks nearby, today, with this new ROM, I can barely see mine + another one (I changed nothing but the ROM). The download speed changed from almost 8 Mbit to 0.5 - 1 Mbit, so that even the worst quality video on YouTube buffers several times Anyone is/was experimenting this kind of issue? any option/idea in order to improve the speed (I don't have the router in the same room so I cant go with wires)? I am not that happy to go back to 4.1 ROM but, at the moment, since I use this device mainly for streaming, with this ROM is useless

ps: I used the 1080 kernel (KK_RK3188_1080_v01.02) and the 4GB parameter file

                      Thank you.

Try looking in settings for something like "optimize wifi" and turn it off. Might make a difference.

Also note that going from a Kitkat ROM back to Jellybean ROM requires some additional work.

                        Cause I've been asked.

Hi, thank you for your reply! Yes. I already did it but unfortunately nothing changed.
Oh, I knew that for Samsung devices, but I didnt know this device kernel was locked as well.

So , I guess, I need to start checking for a new device to buy...

UPDATE: I just down-clocked the kernel to 1200 from 1800 MHz and I reached 7 Mbit in download. I am wondering if the WiFi problem would be power related. At the moment I am using the standard 2A charger...

You can try another power supply as I know I have read there are problems with some of them.
Maybe try the 720 img files just to see if it changes.

New device: I just did this last night. Ordered a Zotac Zbox BI320-U-W2. Tired of fussing with android...this comes preinstalled with Win 8.1, 2gb memory and a 64gb SSD.

                              Crapware inside?

My firewall blocks about 2000 outgoing connections attempts per hour. That is to say when idle, not trying to do anything.

Looking further into it seems to be coming from the kernel. The same after re-flasing the stick (default settings: 720p rk3188, 2gb).

                              Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi there, thats seccound rom ive tried so far.
That looks great and its smoother than finless 1.5 ive tried but I have one issue.
On finless 2.0 wifi works very slow for me ( it worked very good on 1.5) there is also imposiible to instal any bigger app becouse google play stops to download after few %...

I want to ask if there is any way to flash different kernel only and if this can fix my problem.

I have Tronsmart t428 running Finless 2.0 in deaufult configuration.
My internet is superfast so there is no problem with broadband.

                                I will appreciate any help.
                                Thank You.
