    webcams on kitkat

    My report:

    Kernel: ver 4.2 HD AP6210
    ROM: NCR 3.1 for MK809III
Device: MK809IV with red fake antenna - green board inside RK3188 909 v1_1 (but you never know nowadays what you get, they all come on same casing LOL

So the dark image is a kernel related issue? Any news on this?

And what about the screen scale? Besides dark webcam, screen scale not sticking and the Reboot app hanging the stick, everything works for me flawlessly on these "MK809IV" (sound works, wifi works full bars, bluetooth, location, video streaming, etc etc)

EDIT: Is there any ROM that's ADR 4.2.2 with Bootloader ver 2.03 AP6210 MK809? I can't run my camreras this dark, I can't even see with the lights on... :-/

Can anyone suggest a non beta kitkat rom for my mk908ii, still on a beta one - Finless 2.0 a928, best one I have come across, I have tried wassers minix x7, works fine but obviously no wifi - so changing the kernel to D33 v4.1 and wifi works but I have no sound and my screen is stuck at 720x480 with no other options to change to, seems to be something wrong with HDMI in D33 kernel builds, the screen resolution problem does not occur when connecting the stick to my pc monitor, don't know about the sound as my monitor has no speakers. Maybe I need to buy a new TV :-(

This Kernel works great is there a way to have a overclock version of this kernel for my MK809III and SD instead of HD everything on HD is alittle to small to work with

I guess no fix for webcam yet?

Also, the flickering I managed to get rid of it by switching back and forth from 1920x1080-60 to 1920x1080-24 then to 1920x1080-50 and then to 1920x1080-60. Sometimes I had to do this step twice to get the flickering to go away, but it gets rid of it... go figure...

Another thing I noticed is that kernel has no effect on the CAST screen. Not sure how I lost it from the right drop down...

Is there any CMW or TWRP recovery for these KK yet?

EDIT: Screen flickers are back upon reboot...have to keep switching hertz in HDMI mode, I guess I now have to do 2 things: screen scaling and hdmi switching until flicker goes away...

Could be the kernel. Under the settings for the Ethernet device, does it indicate a mac address or is the field just 0:0:0:0? Regardless of physical connections, the system won't communicate through ethernet unless it has a mac address to correspond through.

Hi all, I have succesfully installed in my TV Stick MK809III T VERSION, the Neomode Custom ROM 3.1 with D33 Kernel versione 4.2!
Everything works like a charm, frequencies are CPU 1.6GHZ , DDR 720, GPU Stock.

                ANTUTU
                : 18943! @1080P

                I have also tested overclocked 4.0 kernel and I have this results;

CPU 1.9GHZ DDR STOCK GPU STOCK: Stop at logo boot
CPU 1.8GHZ DDR STOCK GPU STOCK: Work, but when I set in nofrillscpu at 1.8ghz and performance, after 30sec of load the stick reboot, so not stable.
CPU 1.7GHZ DDR 720 GPU STOCK: WORKS.

                So I have two question:

1)I can't push my CPU over 1.7GHZ beacuse of the PSU limit (5V 2A) or because I have a T Version CPU?

                2) Where I can find Overclocked 4.2 kernel? I have tried to make it with rkpatchomatich but I have empty table (because they are compressed)

                Thanks.

P.S I have extra cooling solution, like a FAN and Dissipator on ram and cpu. (so no heating problem)

You can also try with the OC'ed Kernel for picky RK3188T devices (based on d33 v4.1), uploaded by wichoxp:

I am using the above kernel, with my CX-919 (that have FULL RK3188 not T), and always got 20800 to 21000 ANTUTU score!!!

Hope this information will help you!

Hi, thanks in advance for your reply!
I have found in the second post ( ) the rkpatchomatic version KK to overclock this kernel!
So now I'm using the 4.2 HD kernel with 1.8ghz ddr 720 and GPU stock.
It's very stable and doesen't require more then 2A and 5V power supply.

Antutu Score in now like 20130 @1920x1080P (So compared to the kernel are you using is SD it will be over 23000); video playback of 1080p video 10mbps is smooth and fast!
I will suggest to you to mount a 4.2 overclocked HD kernel by using this tool

                      Thanks to all

How I got CIFS to work

Best would be to boot up and mount CIFs straight away so that I don't see any random stuff.
Somehow I managed to get CIFS working with latest 4.2 kernel for TV Sticks. I hope this helps @d33 to fix CIFS problem.

                          1. To get a successfull mount I used hints from here and issued a Terminal command (as 'su'):
                          Code:
                          mount -o unc=\\\\192.168.X.X\\ShareName,username=guest,password=guest -t cifs none /sdcard/cifs/ShareName
This actually got me a successfull errorless mount of my share. The next problem was this mounted share was only visible to root, e.g. when I did "ls" command as 'su' in Terminal I could see the folders inside the mount, but when I tried to see the share using filexplorers ES and RootBrowsers folders were empty.

                          2. The I stumbled uppon this post.
So I did excatly what that user has done. I masqueraded mount command inside '/system/bin/start-ssh' script, with endless loop added at the end:
                          Code:
                          #!/system/bin/sh
                          mount -o unc=\\\\192.168.X.X\\ShareName,username=guest,password=guest -t cifs none /sdcard/cifs/ShareName
while :; do echo 'Hit CTRL+C'; sleep 1; done
After I invoked the script using
                          Code:
                          [COLOR=#222222][FONT=Arial]start sshd[/FONT][/COLOR]
I got my share mounted and also it was visible to all users.

                          3. The next challenge is to see how I could issue this command and startup using init.d script, but late enough at boot to have wireless first connected.
I guess this is somewhat of a temporary solution...

                                building a kernel 1080p d33

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask you to be able to help myself to get 1080P on kitkat rom (NeoMode mk809III 3.1) as the d33 kernel on my device will not start! the only one that starts is the d33 4.0 tests no no ddr gpu overclock.
so the only way I can get the 1080p is to use the kernel smic of his latest rom (MK902 - KitKat 4.4 - SMIC717394 ---- 1080p and 720p ROMs) that perhaps unfortunately is based on 3188-T and on my mk809III 3188full remains fixed at 1.4 ghz cpu clock also trying to install other kernel overclock 1.6 1.7 1.8 1.9 remains fixed at 1.4 ghz. I rpovato to patch with overclockomatic3188 but unfortunately drr and gpu are riserved! therefore also increasing the value cpu is jerky.
even wasser firmware works .. to start you see a distorted image and remains there.
I'm currently using NeoMode mk809III 3.1 and I'm using the overclock kernel included "1.8cpu gpu798 ddr800" and are perfect and fast but unfortunately they are not 1080p could you compile a kernel for me so I have kitkat fast and 1080p? help me please ... I'm asking everywhere but no one gives me a hand.
