Normal Rk3188 source code used the SOC PLL to drive most timings. However it is 'dodgy' PLL stability that make up most of the T (and some non-T) stock.

To compensate, the source was re-written to detect potentially poor PLL stability and use slower but more reliable clock sources.

In the latest kernel I've just found four new areas where PLL was being backed down and 'forced' the code to use PLL regardless of eFuse settings.
What is the end effect difference between -T and non-T chips? Am I correct in the assumption this last kernel build is tailored specifically to the "purebred" 3188?

      Hello,
Excuse my "noob" question, but i have a T428 tv stick with T428 KitKat Finless ROM 2.0, and when i flash a kernel more than 3.0, i cannot access to my nand memory space (first 2go partition systeme and micro sd space is ok).
I do flash the 3.0 version to access to the nand memory space again.
After a reboot, when i go immidiatly in "stockage" i can see the nand but it Disappear after few secondes.
Can you hep me please ?
      Thanks a lot.
PS : excuse my poor english

Can you please add MK908 V3 support for your kernels?

I would love to have some possiblities to OC alittle on my device with KitKat and you seem to have the kernel needed I would deeply appreciate if your could maybe make a test kernel for my device or anything from your series of kernels would help thanks for your hard work making these kernel possible
Try the AP6210 CPUONLY img, if it boots I can upload a CPUONLY build for the RLT8188 (no, I don't have the source, it's' a hex edit). Like d33 and a few others discussed before some of these sticks don't like DDR and GPU OC, so you will, unfortunately, have to use a kernel where you can only OC the CPU.

EDIT: Seems that the 4.2 release doesn't contain a CPUONLY img anymore. Was this intentional, and is it supposed to work?

T chips are effectively the SOCs that fail PLL / leakage tests set for the original specification (1.8 GHz CPU clock). They are sold as 'slower'. The T SOC are identified by an eFuse setting. Interestingly, some 'full' SOCs are also marked as PLL defective but are not given a T rating.

No, it is merely pushing the 'T' SOCs to behave as similar to a 'full' SOC as possible. Of course this means that the worst performing 'T' chips will not be stable with this.

The whole point of this exercise was to make a fully normal kernel for T SOCs that could perform at 'standard' speeds (1.6 GHz CPU & 600 GPU).

              From a few posts above

ROM based on beta sources-> kernels based on beta sources (2.x, 3.x)

New 'official' ROM -> new kernel (4.x)

Make/models mean nothing to me. Just find out what wifi chipset it uses and what type of device it is; stick/box.

It is TV stick and as far as i know it uses AP6210, i tried your AP6210 supported kernel, but it doesnt even boot.

                      (This) firmware's kernel
boots, and works, but it has serious hdmi problems, if i shut down the TV and then open again, screen becomes this:

Apologies, D33. My bad.... Although you've now answered my question, I was intent to ask "What is the end effect difference between -T and non-T chips (when using the latest PLL tweaked kernel)?"
Im finally going KK this week. 'Bout time, too.
Thanks again, D33. You da man, Man. Best of luck in the future with the 3288 and anything else ya put yourself to.

It should now be nothing (except stability!). The same code executing on both SOCs

Tried 4.2 on my new v.4 CS968 with AP6210, and sometimes boot but freezes and sometimes it doesnt even boot!

Can you please give me a non-overclocked kernel to test?
