    No tv-signal (@Magnus33)

    Thanks Magus33, but all kernels I have come about in my 'life' they at least gave me some boot-signal.
    e.g. my tv sees input / 4 pinguins kind a like that..

    I have a Mali videochip inside and a RK3188 proc... so at least I have to get some boot-'output' ??

    @servo :
    Use OMA KitKat CWM recovery (V. 6.0.3.1) after install using Android/rk tool to insert..
    Boot with switch pressed en power on then release switch to enter CWM..
    Easy tool to root every (custom-)rom..

      I no idea if it can work with stock as i never tried.

      I don't use the device myself so iam not going to be much help but judging by this thread it seems likely that kernel flashing is quite possible.

      As for cwm i haven't used it in ages so i no idea.

      Normaly i do a little digging but iam having surgery tom so my time limited.

          What worked.

          You found kernel 4.1 which works on MK802IV. Did not get it Rupke.

            This recovery will work for a CS968? It appears to have been made for some other device.

              It workes...

              Yes, but no..

              CWM Recovery works yes!
              No D33 kernels not in my case..

              Just did CWM recovery 1/2 hour ago over Rikomagic's first 'official' KitKat build for 3188..
              SU.zip in sdcard and rooted the rom..

              Rikomagics default KK gives me the magic but no HD and wifi 'cause I'm on old 8188(eu.ko).

              Somebody have an idea of how to get usb pegasus 3.0.36+ driver up in KitKat??
              Then I'm going external lan...

              No success so far.. used to be so much easier in JB

                @Dzigi

                This one got me excited for a moment: http://www.freak-tab.de/neomode/mk802iv_ow_kk_30.zip.
                The kernel worked oob only for the first boot, wifi & sound and HD on every KK release so far.
                But after first reboot wlan is gone and rebooting issues appear...

                  If I get some positive confirmations then I'll build a new (final?) series

                  Has anyone patched this Kernel to 1.6 or 1.7 yet?

                    If you ask D33 nicely he can praobly make a kernel with the correct driver.

                    The rom itself is not really the issue since you alreayd know you can boot into it.
                    You merely need the correct driver and your laughing.

                            Ask D33 for kernel/driver (Magnus33)

                            @D33 / Magnus33

                            Well, I don't really know what info dear d33 needs to have to accomplish this, but here's some info:

                            I have a MK809III 8GB tv-stick with 8188(eu) comp. wifi chip and of course Mali 400 video.

                            The kernel from http://www.freak-tab.de/neomode/mk802iv_ow_kk_30.zip gave me HD, sound and wifi on first boot but then gave lots of problems after reboot. Boot takes much longer than normal. Not stable.

                            As for another kernel wich I came about and don't know the wherabouts from. It is VERY stable with no lagging whatsoever and clean dmesg and so forth. But need to be specifically put in SD resolution at first boot in settings. Has good sound but no wifi (and no HD). This one you can find here:

                            But my goal is of course the magic three: wifi, sound and.. HD.

                            pl...

                            Edit: using first 'official' RKM KK public release:

                                Thanks Magnus33 and others for helping out other forum memebers.

                                I'm afraid professional/private life is compressing my time which leaves little to no time for Freaktab. Don't expect any answers to Qs from me nor anything new code wise for a while. Apologies.

                                I'm not disappearing forever (I hope)
