I have 2 921b's and for some reason I cannot get sound to work at all! I have that same ROM too and tried it.
What the heck.... I am wondering if my 921b's from AndroidTV are different some how?
If I use D33's old 3.1 kernels I get sound but as you know it's laggy.
I just don't get it

Tested kernel on CX921b, fresh installed KitKat_T010_AP6210_public_20140403 ROM, powered with usb hub. Everything seems to work, wifi, lan, bt.
Antutu scored 19609 at first run, 19998 at second and 19921 at third!
Walter, this kernel kernel_KK_v4.21_TVBOX_AP6210_SD.img and the T010 ROM do not list RK1000 in the devices manager. It lists only HDMI-I2S.
I do not see how your getting sound with this combo on the 921b?

I just tried the latest rad-xa ROM which is RK1000 and I get no sound either.
There is something wrong with the kernel sources and some kind of compatibility with different TVs!
It's got to be something like that. I have 2 of these 921b's and BOTH don't give sound.
Again the point here is without flashing anything else, if I flash back to D33's 3.1 kernel I get sound!

D33, I also tried the CloudGo C11s ROM and it is also RK1000. I still get no sound!
But yet again... if I flash your old 3.1 kernel I get sound.
Something is up and I just do not know what!
No other BOX that I have has this problem. Only the 921b. Since I have 2 I know this is not a hardware issue.
Remind me what other box's have RK1000?

For all that you have mentioned, I am stating to believe that Nomode's have suggested to use, to be safe without cooling, and avoid Over_Heat: cpu1704h - gpustock - ddr667
But how about raise a little the ddr from 667 to 720, Do think it will make some difference on performance without generating such a big amount of heat?

Raising the DDR freq to 720 Mhz doesn't really increase the temp of the ram that much, this isn't a problem.
But keep in mind a higher freq also means slower timings, in other words: a higher clock doesn't always mean faster ram speeds.
It increases the bandwidth, but not the throughput...
About SoC freqs vs temps:
Ik would say 1700 Mhz CAN be safe but remember the ARM doesn't normally run flat out at 1700 Mhz all the time, It tries to run at the lowest possible speed and throttles up when needed.
The CPU governor decides when this happens.
If you however run your CPU at 1700 Mhz all the time It will most likely overheat and become unstable at best or even fry.
Try It at your own risk... I wouldn't but you can do whatever you want with your device.
Radxa has RK1000. Passtrought available in JB and KK.
Already tried it on 921b. No sound!
Basically I have tried everything I can think of. There appears to be some compatibility issue with sound and my two LG's with these kernel sources!
I think I have another box here with RK1000 audio chip but so far I have not found which it is. I want to see if this is a 921b problem only or with other RK1000 devices.

I am a total nooby, but searching to add 1080p 24 to radxa I found lot of reference in hdmi for sound, maybe....
T428 ,Radxa Rock (RR), cs918s v1.0, waiting for my X7...
Thanks for the help but I have tried all the sound settings even the basic RK_29_RK1000 out.
No sound what so ever!

My MK902 has RK1000 so I am going to try that box and see what I get.

OK I get audio on my MK902 with RK1000. So this is ONLY an issue on my 921b!
D33, something is different with this box. When you say your getting audio are you using your 921b from AndroidTV?
FYI been using the same HDMI cable on all boxes. So it's not cables or anything else.
