    Hi d33,
I hope you haven't decided to give us up
Any frash news about solving booting difficulties for the last box's kernels?
I have a tadious time without testing some beautiful creation of yours.

What do you suggest, I did not find any working D33 kernel which can be used with Neo's 3.1 ROM or Finless 2.0 but this one tester kernel 4.0 nogpu and noddr overclock.

What is the safe voltage and speed combination in order to make KitKat works in MK802IV. The latest version of Neo 1.7 and 1.9a were excellent but 720p and 4.2.2.

        D33,

I am using kernel_KK_v4.21_TVBOX_AP6210_SD and this also seems to have booting issues with Tech1 customized ROM for CS968.

I am facing boot issues as well, almost need to try 6-7 times before it boots up. Also, the box turning ON with TV turning ON has also stopped working.

Are these related to voltages? OC Perl script would be the right one to play around with other different voltages?

Sound in kitkat is different then previous roms. It polls the device its plugged into to see what its capable of and if it doesn't get a response there no sound.

4.1 no gpu/no ddr should work fine as it does on both my MK802IV.

What are you using to play media?

Could you give me link of your working 4.1 nogpu and noddr kernel, 1080p if possible.

Using YouTube application mostly and BSPlayer for streams, sometimes MXPlayer for streams from the computer. Sound flickers present on all of them. Picture seems also to be unstable.

              Whoops my bad.
4.1 should work as is just make sure you pick tv stick.
4.0 has the no gpu/no ddr kernel

Another thing of note is that these devices seem to dislike pure 40mhz on routers but work perfectly with the 40/20mhz option.
Try playing a video off a usb or the device itself and if that works correctly they its likely you got a wireless problem rather then a device problem.

I tried, the same sound flickers, with random less number video flickers, which brings me to conclusion that this kernel has some voltage setup improper for my stick, although it is not overclocked. The kernel 4.1 for stick, regular or alt version does not boot. I could not manage to boot with 4.1 kernel from the 1st page.

How to install 4.1 and make it boot.

It should boot which likely means one of two things.

Its a clone or it one of the ones barely capable of the bar minimum.

Who suppose to be the maker?

It looks like I bought an original from Rikomagic suplier. It really worked fine with Neo's 1.7, I could overclockick it, but I have never gone to far, 1.7Mhz CPU, 1400DR, Sam's kernels.

I saw other people had a problem with booting with 4.1 kernels.

What can I do more, to make it work with KitKat.

Some of these have very picky.
My one hates gpu overclocking but the other doesn't.

Have you tried neomode 3.1 without changing the kernel?

                        I'm totally lost!!

                        I have a MK809II and whatever I have tried :

All sorts of (custom-) KK-roms : Fineless, Neo, etc.. (first 'official' Rikomagic).
All kind of d33 / noderat kernels..

They all give me black screen / no tv signal .... so I'm stuck on older custom ones..

What the #$!! is going wrong ?? I Guess I'm serieusly missing out on something..

Please can someone tell me... It must be a known issue already since the start of this thread..

Kind regards, Robin from the Netherlands

The problem is many of those are using different wifi/bluetooth and are majorly picky.
Only way to be sure what it is inside is to open it and check the hardware.

Sorry for the ignorance, but I am new to the world of kernels (but not roms or recoveries):

Am I to believe that you can flash JUST the kernel onto existing roms? How do I determine the compatability with my current rom? How do I check if the Kernel I want to flash is in fact the same as the one I have?

All the kernel names ive seen in system infos are always long names [email protected]ys and on and on. Your kernels names, as far as I can tell, are nothing like that.

Again, sorry for the dumb questions but I am unfamiliar with this all.

No dumb questions we all start somewhere.

These kernels are made for kitkat custom roms.

First we need to know what device you have/rom your using extra.
As to the heart of the question about kernel flash yes you can just flash the kernel.

All you need do is run the flash as you would but uncheck everything except the kernel.
If you wish to change the kernel there a tab off to its right.
No need to erase the idb just put device in flash mode and run.

Im using a CS968. The stock rom is came with. Its KitKat but I dont know exactly which of the iterations it is.

Also, can these kernels be used to make a KitKat compatible CWM recovery? From what I understand, this is what is hinderng the old Leolas CS968 CWM's from being used with kitkat devices.

I dont mean to take up too much of your time. If you can point me to a guide or something with some comprehensive information (about recoverys and kernels) I would really appreciate it.
