Use v4.1... its the same as 4.2 but has more compatibility.

      From the OP:

The following are kernels built against Rockchip sources provided to Freaktab on condition we don't publish (sorry!). These are intended to be used with the recent release of "official" ROMS (April 2014 onward) not beta ROMs (use v2.x/3.x for these)

      Version 4.2
      • TV Boxes - RK1000 support (Audio codec & TV out) / Dual lcdc
      • TV Sticks - No codec / Single lcdc
      • HD resolution (1920x1080)
      • SD resolution (1280x720)
      • Single kernel for all SOCs (this is overclock for RK3188T)
      • CPU: 1.6 GHZ, GPU: 600 MHz, DDR: 720 MHz
      • Increased PLL stability over v4.1
      • Boots properly on MK902/CS968 models
TV Box pack (AP6210/AP6330/RTL8188 (no VMAC yet)
      TV Stick pack (AP6210/AP6210-alt/AP6330/RTL8188)
Here's a CPU only build for those that wish to check boot stability
Measy U4B (=Tronsmart T428) used by my kids!
      Onda v975m - M802 - Bought from Banggood.com
      Pipo M8HD 3G - RK3188 - don't buy from pipo-store

Looks like people (casual/newbies) will be posting same v4.2 reboot/freeze problem in near future, since T model is more common than non-T version ...

@d33: could you warn people about v4.2 usage in your first post? Maybe focusing T model users to use 4.1 instead 4.2.

Like d33 and a few others discussed before some of these sticks don't like DDR and GPU OC, so you will, unfortunately, have to use a kernel where you can only OC the CPU.

EDIT: Seems that the 4.2 release doesn't contain a CPUONLY img anymore. Was this intentional, and is it supposed to work?
Will try and give you some results...

Your "...........ONLYCPU..." works good with my CS968 at 1.6Ghz! Can we have the same kernel but for AP6210 please?

sadly the results of testing the AP6210 both SD and HD kernel ended with a no signal from the tv

Try using overclock script on 4.2 release to lower GPU/DDR

When turning TV on, unplug hdmi and reconnect it.
Otherwise, change device resolution to 1080i or 720p.

                        Mhhh... try this:

                        - Look for RKRemoteControl v2.0.3 apk and install it in some phone/tablet.
                        - Once installed, pair it with your device and look for Control tab.
                        - Press Power touch button and your device will enter in suspend mode.
                        - When you turn TV on again, press Power touch button again to restore it.

                          Quick question.

Could someone suggest a more recent ROM to try out with these kernels?

Ive been using simc717394's KK ROM for mk902.

I actually got the 4.2 kernel here working with it, but not without a good deal of apps crashes and out and out reboots.

Is there a NEOMODE or FINLESSBOB out there somewhere I can try? A pointer to a thread I haven't been able to find would suffice. (feel free to PM it to me if you dont want to spam the thread, or put it in the thread if you think it will help others.)

I know the KK stuff is still pretty new.
Thanks for any help anyone could give me.

Thank you. I in fact already modified your 4.2 RTL8188 img to be CPU only, but others can use it too as I'm quite sure I'm not the only one with this problem.

If your hardware is an MK902 i would try the QuickshotV3 rom. It is tailored to your device. (And can be found in the MK* threads)

If your using 4.2 kernel in Smics kk rom thats why its crashing its not for kitkat try D33 build from post 994 . i tested with Smics and workes great. smic also made oc kernels of d33 build using them very stable and run cool up to 1.7 gets warm after that.
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.
