No HD streaming with SPB TV and FIFA apps
I'm running Finless's 1.8 ROM (1080 kernel) and everything seems to be pretty good except for one problem that I haven't seen an answer to yet in the forum. My MK908T streams HD from my local network just fine (with MX Pro) and even gives me Netflix in HD, but I can't get SPB TV to work in "HQ" mode or even something like the FIFA World Cup apps like the CBC one (I'm in Canada), both of which run superbly on my PiPO M7 Pro tablet and HTC First on the same wifi sitting right beside the MK908.
- The SPB app will show hideously poor video at the non-HQ mode but as soon as I choose HQ I get only audio and no video. Sometimes at the start of HQ I'll get a few frames of crap video and then a frozen image with only audio playing.
- With the CBC FIFA app I get the advertisement video that runs before each VOD, but then get the "turning circles" while it tries to load the FIFA vid, until it finally gives up with a notification that "the video cannot be played".
Can anyone tell me why am I able to get HD video on the MK908 when I stream from my home network and even Netflix, but not with these other apps?Last edited by littlepriest; 16 July 2014, 21:37.

AW: NEW - MK908 Finless 1.8 ROM

(I managed to gather a reasonable amount of referral space before Copy limited it to 25G, so I should be able to make anything we can gather together accessible. Doesn't have to be limited to the MK908, either.)

Cahoots is a coworking space and event venue in downtown Ann Arbor dedicated to amplifying the vibrant entrepreneur and tech community.
...but I'm on rather slow aDSL, so it'll take a few hours for it to complete the transfer.
I also found 1.7 and 1.7a...is there any desire to have them available? Same thing...I can get them posted, but with my low-bandwidth uploads it'll take a while for them to show up.
(And yes, I know how Finless feels about other people sharing his ROMs...as soon as he has the kerfuffle here dealt with, I'll remove the Copy share.)

Edit: Just found MK908-android.4.2.2.jjhmod.v1.5 both with Vsync fix and universal. Haven't even finished downloading them yet, but again, if anyone needs, just post or PM.

pb w flash mode
hi sorry, but i cant entry into flash mode:
nothing of this go on, my mk908 get into "reboot system android" page, what is the pb?
thxs
"Putting the MK908 into flash mode using the reset button:
1) Have the USB cable unplugged.
2) On the top of the MK908 near the blue LED hole is the reset pin hole.
Use a paper clip or something to push the reset button in this hole.
I actually enlarged the hole so a paper clip would fit.
You will feel the button "click" when you are on it.
3) Hold this button down and while holding it, plug the USB cable from the PC to the OTG port (usb port on side not rear).
4) Continue to hold this reset button and after about 4 seconds, you should here windows BONG it found a new device.
5) You are now in ROM flash mode. Read below for installing drivers.
Putting the MK908 into flash mode using the Flash Tool:
Note this works ONLY if you have the drivers installed.
1) Remove any SDcard you may have installed.
2) Connected the supplied USB cable from the device to your PC. It will power up and windows
may detect the device. DO not worry about that. We need it powered up.
3) In the ROM kit run the ROM Flash Tool.exe.
If at the bottom of the flash tool it says "Found One MSC Device" then proceed to step 4.
If at the bottom of the tool you see "No found any Devices".
We need to make changes in settings to turn on USB storage
Go into settings and click on developer options. Make sure USB debugging is OFF.
Go into storage settings. At the top right are 3 dots. Click it and select MASS Storage box.
Go into USB menu and turn on USB.
4) Now at the bottom of the PC flash tool you should see "Found One MSC Device".
If it does NOT say that, then repeat steps 3
5) Once it says "Found One MSC Device" in the flash tool click the "Switch" button.
6) Wait up to at least 10 seconds. The unit should reboot and the screen will be black (no ouptut).
7) The flash tool should now say "Found One LOADER Device"
8) If the unit does not reboot to a blank screen and into flash mode it maybe stuck so use the manual method.
