apenas tentei no meu CYX_809III_RK3188. PERFECT !! Wi-Fi e BT reconhecido e trabalhar !! mas só suportam 720p (no meu) É um 4.4.02 Android não enraizadas. I have the same issue, and have found others on the web. Basically, whether booted under Android (stock ROM), or in flash mode (pressing the reset button while plugging in the USB), the device is not recognized by Windows. By this I mean that the VID and PID are UNKNOWN, and no driver can be installed. I have forced the standard driver install, but then the device cannot start. In other words, I have no way to actually flash anything to that thing...

dmesg under Linux just shows me it cannot enumerate that USB device. I have tried a total of 8 computers and 10 different USB cables.

          Any ideas??

          Thank you very much!!

            Hello

I have only skimmed through this thread, but wanted to post my thoughts/findings on this particular board, as well as some general issues.

Firstly, due to the fact it is a T variant, you should rule out any rom version that is not 4.4 KK. The T kernel is horribly bottlenecked and it has only become unlocked with the use of d33's kernel - which also fixes the video stuttering and hdmi flicker issues.

d33's kernel does have support for the ESP8089, however the bluetooth is different so you will lose that if you decide to go that route, here are my current rom findings.

Finless 4.4 BETA (Don't use, can't use D33's kernels and lacks general features)

Custom mk809iii Roms (Once flashed with d33's kernel you will get wifi, but the moment it connects it will turn off and on, 1080p resolution is possible)

cyxtech_rk31_dongle_8089 6622 _4.4_140402.rar (stock rom works at 720p with wifi and bluetooth, kernel will limit speed + video stutter + hdmi flicker, non rooted)

Flashing d33's kernel to the rom above will unlock the CPU/GPU at the cost of bluetooth, rooting it is also straight forward, however you still can't set the resolution to 1080p. It seems perhaps screen density is stopping this as all apps report 720p, but on boot my TV reports 1080p.

There are a few options that can be done:

            A) Find out what is causing the Wifi on custom roms to turn off and on constantly, building a special rom for it.

            B) Fix the stock rom to standards (aka SD card fix ect..) and find out what is causing it to still be in 720p.

I'm not sure if the bluetooth sources are available, but might pop over to d33's thread and see if it is at all possible. On another note, despite the issues with the custom roms they do have the ESP8089.ko in the system.img, I may try and build some type of hybrid which can hopefully sort the issues out.

I haven't had a great deal of time to play around due to work.

However, making the stock rom to 1080p seems like a massive undertaking - the framework simply won't allow it.

I've aslo delved deep into the russian sites to see if any custom roms exists, they do, but there is always something broken still, be it wifi/bluetooth, 1080p or the kernel not allowing full CPU/GPU speeds.

Good post! it more-or-less summarizes the current state of this stick. So if i understood it correctly the best choice would be the abovementioned rom and the d33 kernel. No bluetooth and no 1080p but other than that everything works. Have you done any testing with 1080p content? Will XMBC work? I'm only using it now for viewing 720p content because 1080p stutters.. If this would be possible it would be great..

1080p should be a breeze with the kernel on 720p, considering it's clocked higher then older dual core rockchip devices that could handle it. May be a bit rough with the stock kernel, but then you'll get the nasty vsync issue so probably not even worth using the stock kernel.... ever.

There is no best combo, as some may prefer true 1080p and just connect via usb wifi/ethernet, the option is there, but hopefully something can be done so we can get everything at some point and not compromise.

Played around a bit more over the weekend.

Overheats like anyone's business, will need modding in some way to keep the stick from rebooting. I glued a 1p coin to the SOC, seems to stop it rebooting and fits nicely but nowhere near as cool as my cx919's.

Only 1gb of Ram.... bit weird.

Solder is very poor, had to resolder both wifi and bluetooth connections.

Overall, this is the problem with buying these devices from non reliable sources.

I agree that there is no best combo is as yet and perhaps never will be but if i'm able to use a KK rom with working WiFi and 720P (possible 1080P) and SPMC/XBMC by using a custom kernel but losing BT i would be happy. I will start flashing next weekend to see how far i will get so i'll have to find the correct custom kernel to use. Where did you get yours?

It seem's to be smooth, the only things i notice with the default kernel are :

                          - cpu (4 core) is always at 1GHz, never 300MHz or 1400MHz
                          - no Bluetooth

                            Thanks for this great post.

I am finding it increasingly frustrating finding a decent rom for this rare device.

The only rom that is stable is Android 4.2 stock rom, the WiFi and Bluetooth is solid but
the video playback is an issue, judder. Not good when that was one of the main reasons I bought it.

I have posted here with regards to this.

I have tried the d33 custom kernal that says has support for the chipset, but WiFi just
                            Switches off. Shame.

I have asked Smic to have a look at the 4.2 stock rom as it is the only one that is stable with WiFi and Bluetooth, hopefully we may have a decent rom soon.
