        I git clone xbmc source code from xbmc official website to 20140512,and did some modify.

        It can play 4k/rmvb/h265 video instead of invoking mxplayer.

        Here is the link:https://www.dropbox.com/s/ottkh966t9...40513-oman.apk

        Pls try and test it.
        Oman. Can you get modified final Gotham release instead of alpha? Could someone share apk with Gotham final hacked to work on s802?

              BTW,I am reading the xbmc source code recently,I want to improve something ....
              May I ask why you choose the Gotham 14 alpha instead of the gotham 13.1 at the time to build your xbmc, it works great but was curious

                    I think the code for those specific amlogic features is not merged into the master branch yet

                      I've notice a problem;

                      If I change the resolution to 720p XBMC menus are ok but Movies are not Centre the screen ...
                      looks like picture 4x bigger than the screen and only 1/4 of the picture watchable .

                      Gotham RC also same but 720p videos working ok

                        oman or lokie, quick question. If I remember correctly amlogic devices use amlcodec instead of libstagefright and mediacodec. This is obviously kitkat on amlogic s802. In this version of xbmc the default is set to allow hardware accel over amcodec not amlcodec with both libstagefright and mediacodec enabled. Kitkat uses mediacodec but I noticed on the stock 102k4 rom that in system/lib libstagefright.so still exists. for hardware accel what needs to be enabled? im assuming amcodec but does libstagefright and mediacodec need to be enabled as well?

                          mmm I don't know much about XBMC i'm afraid - i'm into kernels. Oman should be able to tell you I think.

                            Just amcodec is for hardware accel.

                            amlcodec=amcodec?

                            But other media player App may use libstagefright.so.

                            Enable libstagefright and mediacodec will be fine,just leave it to be default.

                              from previous geeksearch on amlogic devices (pre kitkat) I know enabling libstagefright messed things up. Just from what I've read amlcodec should be enabled for proper xbmc accel. I've always been a windows .dll or samsung exynos guy so I'm just curious. Can anyone confirm enabling amcodec mediacodec and libstagefright works. I'm away from my box so I can't debug. Just curious

                                Running finless 1.5 with cpu_patch and XBMC gotham beta 2.

                                Setting amcodec in XBMC settings produces pause-like-buffering output in some 23.976fps movies. From what I've gathered from another post amcodec is not yet good to use for S802.

                                However enabling libstagefright plays all videos smoothly through XBMC's internal player (one 1080p video rebooted the machine, on second trial it played normally). Mediacodec crashed XBMC in some movies. The same happens with oman's version.

                                Also the quality is is almost the same using all three codecs.

                                A small note is that using either 720p@60Hz or 1080p@Hz made no difference in using these codecs meaning that something bad is going on inside XBMC handling amcodec properly.

                                So for the time being libstagefright is safe to use for smooth general playback, until bob or oman or someone figures out what is going on with amcodec.
