I had the problem after applying the OTA and again after flashing the full (updated) ROM through the flash tool. The only way to get the box working again was to go back to stock. The factory reset was just something I tried, not really related to the problem. But I am somewhat relieved to hear I'm not the only one who has seen this weird behaviour

I really hope that they will send you the missing remote control!

I have several IR remotes that work! It's just a matter of using the correct remote.conf file.

"Прости им, они не ведают, что творят"

"Vergib ihnen, denn sie wissen nicht, was sie tun"
"Vergeef hen want ze weten niet wat ze doen"
"Pardonne-leur car ils ne savent pas ce qu'ils font"

"Oprosti im, jer ne znaju Å¡to čine"

thats exactly what I do for CSM8 box when I install other s802 devices FWs ...

copying remote.conf to system/etc helps but this time at this location there was no remote.conf to replace and copying the csm8 remote.conf to that directory didnt helped (ticked all permissions)

                  R89 as a PVR

One of my main objectives with these boxes is to use them as an inexpensive PVR (personal video recorder) using the gear that I already have. This box is getting soooooo close to matching a stand alone DVR. By programming the buttons from the standard IR remote to my Harmony universal remote, I can use this PVR just like my stand alone DVR. And the Guide is the best I have ever seen or used.

Not to bore you too much, but I just made a YouTube video showing my PVR. I have other videos showing the same thing, but this box is awesome for my purposes.

                  MK818B, T428, ATV 1220, CS918S, TV01, S89H, R89, ADT-1, MK808B Plus, MINIX X8-H Plus, Tronsmart Orion R68

WOW Amazing! Do you have a TV tuner interfaced as well! We should maybe create a separate thread tilted R89 PVR
