Pipo M9 Pro RileyROM 3.0

CAUTION: This IS a KitKat ROM...so do your homework on flashing KitKat ROM's before you get started...if you are upgrading from a Jellybean ROM. If you think KitKat isn't for you, visit the main Pipo Forum for instructions.

This ROM may be the last we see from Pipo for the M9 Pro, so I decided to call it v3.0. Believe me, I have been trying to modify that last versions on my own without much success...so there were other versions I never released.

This ROM is based on official Pipo firmware (still from beta testers, not from the Pipo site). Thanks to all of you users who saw this before I did.

One thing I have noticed is that QuickOffice now works and saves files to your SD card. We will have to wait and see what other fixes are in store.

This ROM has all of the usual RileyROM features:

Init.d support with Busybox commands

Updated Google Apps
2, 4, 6, 8 or 12gb user app space by selecting the desired parameter file
Auto Install feature added for installing apk files on first boot from external SD

Latest revision of the First Time User's Guide
Flash Tool by Finless
All made with a variation of 900SuperSport's Freaktab Kitchen

Edit: This is now v3.0.1

The update fixes the Exchange email bug, and includes kernel 407 in the kit as an optional kernel. The default is still kernel 406.

EDIT: You now have kernel options

The default kernel in this ROM is kernel 406. We've obtained a copy of kernel 407. If you are interested in experimenting with switching out kernels to compare performance and functionality differences feel free. In the flash tool, just uncheck everything except the kernel line and direct the flash tool to the desired kernel you want to flash. Don't erase IDB, or you will have to flash the whole ROM over again.

Don't install updates on QuickOffice. The factory version works...but the update doesn't.

when i click 'reboot to flash mode' it changes to NO FOUND RK ANDROID rock USB.
and i have to reboot again, but doesn't stay in flash mode

due to i send my Pipo max m9
for repair they send me an pipo max m9 pro 32 gb
back so i now also have a pro tablet

hey i flashed i got some error about cant mount ext sd
(i dont have one inserted)

and 1 about metadata
but thats i think because i is different with kitkat

Yes it's true, Quick Office will be fuc.ed after update.
Kingsoft Office is working normal, saved/modified a .docx file on internal/external memory without any problems.
In home screen applications shortcuts will display text under icons.. in R 2.7.2 is not possible with stock launcher.
GPS is working fine here, first fix under 2 min. with 16 meters accuracy.
No flickering keyboard as far i can see until now.
HW+ decoding mode with custom codec in MX Player is working fine, in RR2.7.2 i was not able to accomplish this.
Deep sleep will not be triggered until modem power will be disabled, is not able to keep modem power in off state after every reboot/start.
Antutu score is a little bit lower, only 19100, on RR 2.7.2 was 20200 pts.

One thinig is not very clear for me, and maybe is very important for us...KERNEL VERSION used for this ROM:

Which kernel version is more evolved and bug free ...that's a completion for a great ROM.

That's what I said in post #2. Based on my own observations.

There aren't any change logs...as usual.
