      As to what good these Settings do I don't know, as my DTS Decoder always chokes at that point in the Antutu Video Benchmark. Other DTS (DVD Grade DTS) seems to play back fine under the 4k Player, and XBMC. Perhaps the DTS in the Vid Test is more like DTS-HD, or something? Which would explain why its not working here.
      Those dts settings are meaningless if you are using HDMI/SPDIF passthrough. I have also tested in PCM mode, but can't say with confidence that those options are actually functional (Transcode for sure doesn't work). Similarly, Dolby DRC setting applies only in PCM mode.

        I don't really use mine for that stuff anyway and stick to streaming local content for the most part so it doesn't bother me.

        If netfliks or the like is important i can always use my wd smp or get a cromestick.

          Just kidding, I also use other devices, depends on the need.
          For a mini Android pc, it works well downloading etc.

            Yup no such thing as a perfect device.

            I can see why some are moving away from android though since its simpler in some ways to get these services working on windows or linux.

                  M8 HDMI Audio routed to new remote

                  Greetings Gentlemen,

                  When I plug in the usb wireless adapter for my new remote the audio which is set in the settings to HDMI stops. From what I have been able to find out the audio_policy.conf needs to be modified but I do not know how to do this. Can someone please help me?
                  Best Regards,

                        We'll get the Android L SDK from AML for S802/S812/S805 these days..Then we'll release some Beta ROMs.
                        Easy way to catch LOG -> Search 'Syslog' in Google Play,then install it and catch log

                          Ahh good to hear.

                          Don't think kitkat and this device ever quite got fully along.

                              Not exactly.

                              4.2.2 was still more primaly for the phones and it wasn't tell later development in it and kitkat that it branched over to other form factors like tablets and tv boxes.

                              Lollipop was developed with the idea that its more then just for phones so hopefully it doesn't have some of the issues we had with kitkat.

                                Actually it is a Minix one, and now it works great after I commented out this section of the Audio_policy.conf

                                # usb {
                                # outputs {
                                # usb_accessory {
                                # sampling_rates 44100
                                # channel_masks AUDIO_CHANNEL_OUT_STEREO
                                # formats AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_16_BIT
                                # devices AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_USB_ACCESSORY
                                # }
                                # usb_device {
                                # sampling_rates 44100
                                # channel_masks AUDIO_CHANNEL_OUT_STEREO
                                # formats AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_16_BIT
                                # devices AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_USB_DEVICE
                                # }
                                # }
                                # inputs {
                                # usb_device {
                                # sampling_rates 8000|11025|16000|22050|32000|44100|48000
                                # channel_masks AUDIO_CHANNEL_IN_MONO
                                # formats AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_16_BIT
                                # devices AUDIO_DEVICE_IN_USB_DEVICE
                                # }
                                # }
                                # }

                                Later I will try removing the # from the inputs section which will hopefully let
                                me use the Minix microphone in Skype.

                                Just a thought, could the firmware be modified to include an option in settings that would allow you to select whether USB Audio in or out is enabled or not? Even if a reboot was required it would be better than having to edit .conf files.

                                Best wishes to all!
