I switched back to QUICKSHOT V3.1 because this Rom doesn't have TWRP recovery..
Quickshot 3.1 is an excellent ROM. But it's not as compatible as this one. I bought 6 MK809III sticks and tried to install Quickshot on all of them. Ironically, it only booted on the Rk3188T sticks, not the 2 Rk3188 sticks I had.

Also, the Quickshot kernel is aggressively overclocked since it's meant for a box with a better heatsink. I found the sticks were overheating A LOT, so I ended up replacing the kernels with one by D33. Finally, the Quickshot kernel doesn't have the audio fix for older tv's and monitors.

In short, both ROMs are excellent, but Smic's is more compatible.

something wrong with the preinstalled spmc with the Version 4 rom. I get error script for video add ons. uninstalling spmc and reinstalling solved the problem. thanks for the rom.

I can't install it. I can't click on the install button.
And when I try to install the app from Hola! there is a parsing error.

First of all, thank you very much to the dev of this ROM! This Roks!

Question, has anybody been successful in using skype for video calls with this ROM? My webcam is Logitech C170

I can fry an egg over the stick when try to play a game (until reboots). Just setting to 1Ghz is more or less stable, same running xbmc

Is there a way to set the CPU to 1000Ghz from first boot? I mean, after install the rom it must boot setted to 1Ghz from begining.

                        Possible?

I made a ROM.img based on this, but overheat problems are a headache

Wow, you have a bad stick. My MK809III doesn't overheat that much - it's never shut off due to heat. I played pretty far through Nova 3 before I uninstalled it for more room. I'm also regularly playing Mame4droid.

What kernel you use. Use nofrills app included and set the max to 1.4 or something and use a kernek with gpu 400.

I use the main kernel in your smic717394_809III_1080p_V4.4.02_ROM V3.rar

I did not change to another one from the folder "Kernels"

                                - When I choose in nofrills app a max 1,008 Ghz the stick does not reboot, if higher than 1,008Ghz, yes.

                                - I also found same problems watching youtube HD videos, it is not hot so quiclky, but after maybe 30-40 minutes reboots because hot.

                                - I don't have problems watching 1080p movies by MX Player and 1,416 Ghz (but XBMC reboots, I hoped this anyway).
