Cube Talk 9x U65GT ROM based on Cube's V 1.8 firmware of 4 July 2014

SD Card randomly un-mounting itself.

First up, Thanks so much to Brian and Lepi and everyone else for the interest and development of this great tablet!

I've finally managed to flash the ROM in the First Post (after some annoying issues with Windows 7 and drivers) and everything seems to be running smoothly.

However I recently purchased a Sandisk Ultra 32gb MicroSD card (equivalent to a class 10) for use with my tablet and I seem to be having the issue where it just randomly un-mounts itself in the middle of use. I have googled this issue and I get a lot of hits regarding samsung devices and these cards.

So I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with any particular microSD cards at all with their U65GTs?

P.S. I read on another forum in regards to this issue that the class 10 (or ultra class1) cards are actually worse for using with tablets because while they have a faster sequential read/write speed their random read/write speed is actually slower than the lower class 4 or 6 cards. Anyone care to chime in on this at all?

Compared to Pipo M6pro

mod rom is based on the stock one. So the problem is the same.
I'm using the stock rom but rooted too.

As I read, you had a M6pro. Are there real benefits in Cube Talk? Aside from 4.4 and smaller design? Are there any real disadvantages?

From the M6pro to this one there are HUGE step forward!

Cube is totally stable, IGZO display is a lot better than poor quality plastic one of the m6pro.
Cube speakers are only a little bit louder than m6pro.
SoC performance is at least 50% faster than m6pro. Cube fluidity is practically perfect on general use.
About 3G and wifi speed and coverage there is no comparison! Cube is REALLY good, pipo 3G is awful and slow!
Build quality is really awesome for the cube. It's comparable to iPad air build quality. I've never seen a fantastic build quality like the cube on a chinese device!

The only bad thing of the cube talk 9x is the very long battery charging: almost 7 hours is really a long time!

last but not least the cover of cube is able to wake up / sleep the tablet.

I'm really happy of my new cube.
Also another user here (fokemon) sold the m6pro to buy the cube and as far as he said he is very happy of his new cube.

I think that cube talk 9x is a better allaround product even better than the pipo p1. The only good point of the P1 is the faster SoC. Other than that cube is better in everything else!

I can agree on everything! Pipo was, after last updates, usable. But this is just better. But, at the moment, I do have one issue. Sometimes, while watching a video, picture "bricks". I think that will be better... I was happy with pipo, but still I wouldnt go back for anything!

I actually got a 32Gb Transcend 300x UHS-1 (Ultra-high-speed) for use in a camera (Samsung NX2000) and the tablet to work with the images. I switch between that and some regular 16 Gb card I had laying around with no problem. Never had an unmount, the files load nice and quick.

The only thing I did have was the fresh card getting stuck in the reader. Had to carefully fish it out. Rubbed it on some hard surfaces for a bit and now there's no problems at all.

May be the P1 is the bug fixed of M6Pro , it come to late.

the p1 has the same low quality chassis of the m6pro....(inside is kept together by the TAPE!)
Now the p1 is STILL an unstable tablet.
The p1 has the RK3288 that is a really fast SoC. That's all!

I do not pay a tablet to stay as a beta tester all the time!
I pay a tablet to use it normally!!!! and modify it if I WANT to do that, not because out of the box is unusable!

I am thinking it might just be this particular card, I have an 8gb Kingston that works fine, though its only a class 4. Time to ring up Sandisk I guess. (I just tested it out and it actually unmounted while connected to the PC!).

If anyone feels like letting me know of any other brands UHS-1 cards that are working fine in the Cube, please do!

I bought the Sandisk because I read in this review on the XDA forums that the Samsung's had issues.

The only issue, potentially an annoying one for some, is that the 9X failed to mount some of the MicroSD cards. I tried 2 Samsung MicroSDs, neither of them worked on the 9X. But the Sandisk and Kingston MicroSD cards worked perfectly.

Which video player do you use?

I use MX player ("HW" decoder mode) and everything seems working fine.
I say "seem" because I only watched 4-5minutes of 1080 video perfectly.

I watched online videos without issues, but I do not see/understand finnish TV stations, I'm sorry!

I think we are all waiting on this, hopefully Cube releases an update that fixes it, or one of the many talented devs comes to the rescue!

Isn't the normal browser based on Chromium anyways? seems kind of weird in a way since they work of a similar engine why one works fine and the other not.
