I am currently testing Kodi 14 alpha 2, apparently there was a big Amlogic S802 fix in it. Only been a day but so far very stable

Reboot issue still exists...maybe I will try test out new build as well and see if that solves this. Out of curiosity...are you on finless 1.8 or 1.7?

After doing much reading, i decided to put finless 1.8 rom on the box. I flashed the rom via SD card and match reset button in A/V hole method. i also did factory reset first. The issue I keep getting is random reboots. i was able to reproduce pretty consistently with antutu app. What I did was run stability test two time consecutively one after another and then run the full test on antutu and after it runs to 97% on full test it would flash and reboot. i was also able to reproduce this while streaming 1080P video, seems to take about 15-30 mins then reboot. Finally I decided to put finless 1.7 rom and did all the same tests. It seemed to pass all those tests, except when i ran it in finless 1.7 rom, it did not have xbmc installed on it yet. i installed oman's xbmc and then streamed a few more 1080P video of about 45 min each video and at the end of the second video it rebooted again. Does anyone know what might cause the rebooting?

        thanks advance for your help.
I am having exactly the same issues on my box using 1.7 with Oman's XBMC. No luck so far. Mine doesn't just reboot. It seems that it crashes Android (while streaming HD movies/TV shows mainly from GOmovies and GOtv) and I have to unplug the power and put it back in. Have you also tried Kodi? I haven't tried 1.8 because of the interlace issue but i will give it a try.

I am guessing you are having the same issues i had with stanes android and linux fw's because the developers had an older box than ours and the hardware changed since then and something is not compatible with the new boards and the older roms !!!

With companies changing boards like they are throwing frisbees at us i think this issues will be a major headache for all of us !!! Both rom developers as well as end users !!!

Using Finless 1.8 ROM. Loading movies takes ages....., even with Oman's XBMC and advancedsettings.xml. Looking forward to a fixed version!

I'm using Finless 1.8 for some time now and I'm very happy so far. Since my M8 arrived I have tried out many roms but this is best one. Some highlights:

                      1080p 24Hz setting
The 1080p 24Hz setting provides excellent playback of 23.796fps movies in both XBMC and MXplayer. Using this setting my Netflix is smoother than ever. No HD of course but the stutter with horizontal movements and pan shots is gone.

I also tried the Motionbar testfile for 24.976 fps. The fast upper bar is a little fuzzy (shaking) but moves smooth form right to left. Strange thing is that the fuzziness is gone when you bring up the on screen menu in XBMC.

                      On/off switch
Working at last. I can now switch my M8 on and off using the remote. Blue light problem solved.

                      Playstore
Working fine both free and paid apps.

But I did find some minor problems:

                      5Ghz WiFi
Somehow my 5Ghz WiFi does not show up. It does in other roms I tried. No biggie

Black screen in some video apps
Apps like Dailymotion and Ziggo (Dutch Live TV app) show no video. The sound is playing but the video stays black. I'm sure this can be solved because these apps work fine on the Minix X8 I heard.

I'm using old Lifeforce based fw due to interlacing problem but just checked CEC option for you, yes I can Manage to control the M8 with my panasonic VT50 Remote
also M8 Power OFF = TV POWER OFF
