I followed a tweak guide on the ppsspp forum but each piece of hardware is different so i played around with a few settings to get things playable.

The game I really wanted to play, Avabel online apparently doesn't run on rooted devices so I need to hide the fact it's rooted or just use my tegra 3 tablet.
according to what i've read this morning I need to install xposed framework & the root hiding mod.

I also think I broke something. LOL!
Been installing & uninstalling A LOT of games testing controller compatibility & now when I reboot using fast reboot bluetooth sometimes doesn't start & my default keyboard switches to controller sometimes at boot which completely messed with me the first time until I figured it out.

Ideally i'll just leave it on 24/7 plugged into my TV.
I doubt it would make much of a difference on my power bill.

However, this little guy throws off some serious heat!

Also, i'm not in a hurry to update the rom just yet.
for the most part everything works really well.

      1.4 is ready

I could not find a way to edit the main post, so I Will have to post it here.

Version 1.4 is ready, it features the same as the 1.3 plus:

      • Biggifi Support, only Mouse emulation is 100% working, touch, sensor and keyboard are not working as expected, maybe because of difference in android versions ,to make this work download the app from the play store and install it in your tablet or smartphone, the connect to the same Wi-Fi and it will show in your list.
      • several apks were removed that did nothing, some were annoying, some kept running all the time.
      • pre-installed apps are now easy to remove as they are no longer installed as system apps.

      Download here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95747613655041985

      MD5: bec0ca2323fcbda509b4ec4ff6aa86fb

This is a patch that adds the welcome screen, if you have the dock and want to use Ethernet this is the only way to enable it.

      OOBE Patch: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95747613655043085

just flash it in recovery and the welcome screen should popup after reboot

1.3 has been deleted because of dropbox suspension, sorry.

also, I was thinking of removing several services I Don't use (airplay, etc) as well as some extra system apps, calendar, telephone, contacts, etc. does anyone use those? should I keep them ? or remove them? I am using my stick without them, and it runs very nice.

anyways, enjoy and let me know if you find any problems

        Awesome, thanks for this!

I am using Airplay. Great for wirelessly playing music as my TV is hooked up to my sound system.

I Will keep 1.3 for a bit, and if everything is ok, I will delete it from dropbox.

Is there an app for backing up emulator settings or do I just copy their folders to the SD card?

I use titanium backup, but the free version is limited, I think it has no batch backup

Is there a way to enable ethernet outside of the initial "media" setup wizard? Didn't see it in options.

Connect the cable and go into settings, ethernet should be there. If not, do you have the dock or a regular ether net dingle?

This was using the dock. I didn't turn it on during the initial setup and after searching the options for 20 minutes saw no way to do it after. Tried plugging in / unplugging the cable as well as powering off/on the gamestick and still nothing. Only the option to turn on/off wifi. Eventually I just flashed the rom again and turned it on this time during the setup and it worked after. Still I thought there has to be a way to do it after.

It seems that the dock works different than my dongle, as mine shows up anytime I hook it up. But I don't have a dock to test it fully 1.4 does not have the initial setup, so I am going to have to blindly figure that one out. Thanks for the heads up

The dock is $15 at gamestop with $2 shipping . I wonder if 1.4 even works with the dock ethernet then if you removed the setup. I used ver 1.3. By the way do you have a changelog? Any wifi enhancements in 1.4?

I'm very interested in playing FFVII Crisis Core with PPSSPP. Which settings do you think I should use?

I would buy & ship one to you but it would most likely cost a lot to ship.

Thanks, but yeah it probably would and I wouldn't want to spend a lot more than its worth :P

on 1.3 I found an easy way to do it.

go into app manager, then search for OOBE and clear its data, restart the stick and the welcome screen appears again.

on 1.4 I created a patch that will install the OOBE welcome screen, as this seems to be the only way I can manage to enable Ethernet with the dock (without testing it)
