I'm currently running Kerber's 5.0.5 v1 (from target) and apart from the power off button not working correctly (it reboots device) all works fine. CEC powers off the device and I'm using a workaround to power it on since my player's IR remote never worked in any version of openelec.

can you explain the difference in v1 and v2?

and is there an english thread that follows these builds specifically.

im currently running 5.0.3 codesnake and i am looking to upgrade.

theres a few issues currently for me, stereoscopic 3D mode results in "No Signal" for me, so i have to watch 3d movies in 2dmode, which is ok but not good for subtitles or kodi navigation.

also 23.97hz give me a no signal(assuming because my TV doesnt support it) but i would still like to use auto refresh rate change so it moves between 60/50/24 hz like 4.97.3 did for me, currently i lock it on 24p mode but that makes the menus choppy looking compared to 60hz

i also made an autostart.sh file to stop the box from shutting down via CEC when i power off my TV, because i cant power the box on via CEC and prefer to use my TV remote for kodi control over the stock m8 remote.

overall tho these builds on this box is pretty solid. very impressed with this device.

I don't know the difference between v1 and v2, but they both work well, and I didn't try any 3D content. I have video settings on 60hz, but it auto changes to 24 when needed.

For the CEC issue, you can just use a remote activated power socket and it will automatically power on via CEC both the box and the TV.

              thanks

unfortunately my TV uses a bluetooth smart kinda remote and theres no IR from what i can tell.

thanks i will give v1 a go and see what happens.

As far as I know there isn't any. I think he only made if for wetek as of now.

Hopefully he gets around to work on the G Box Q. This is a really good device, I have Code's 5.0.5 running on it now and it's works great. But it's still a problem that some people are still getting the M8 overlay on some tvs.

If code or anyone can fix this problem, I got a couple kegs in my garage I would like to donate :-)

I will like to ask if "Stalker iPTV client' can be installed on Kodi 14.1 built into OpenElec on M8 2gb? I cannot get the Stalker Zip installed. "addon does not contain the correct file structure". Any one got this installed and working?

Forget OpenELEC. it just not usable. It may work some time-then dies.

PS where can i find Kerber openelec sources?

EDIT: i found it but it not for my CPU... sad.

Kiralina is target v1 or v2 has Kodi 14.1?

On one of my mx2's with Gotham 13.2 Openelec Version 4.2.1, I keep getting an error message on boot

"[Failed] Failed to start XBMC hacks."

See 'systemctl status xbmc-hacks.service' for details

I've reflashed this twice and all is ok for a week or so, But then it does it again.

                          Any ideas?

                          Thanks

been using v1 since yesterday, stereoscopic 3d is working, also refresh rate changing is working good too. kodi 14.2 . happy so far. also an option to use software decoding for SD stuff is awesome too.

only thing missing now is 4k resolution working, i only get 1080p when selecting 3840x2160
