You can't install Plex Server software. This is just Kodi linux. Even if you could install Plex server the hardware has not enough power to do video transcoding on-the-fly.
These boxes are used to be clients and not servers.

Probably because of the forum software upgrade. I had some weird effects because of it as well.

Hi guys I am having issues with updating from 4.2.1 to 5.0.3 on my MX2

I did tried by putting the .tar (file required for updating) in update folder and i got screen flickering and same happened on my 2nd MX2 box as well. I tried by doing a new install from recovery (after installing 1.1.6 and then unzip 3 files and put on the SD card) and it started and then as soon as I installed tv addons wizard and restarted the box, these was no display (screen just went Black). I reinstalled 1.1.6 matricom firmware and then 4.2.1 and everything is back to normal

PS - I have been using openelec for nearly 10 months now and have used all versions from 4.1.2 to 4.2.1 but never experienced such an issue.

Can some one advise how can I fix this issue and update to openelec

I have heard people not being able tot run anything past 4.2.x on their cloned box.

The last version works on my box is - openelec 4.97

I have asked my friend to come over and we will test 5.0.3 on Matricom MX2 and will let you know how I go

Agreed, except for some PVR issues, but that's related to Kodi 14.1 (@Codesnake: eagerly awaiting 14.2 or later version <wink wink>)

Hi is it possible to install openelec on my M8 box, below is the specs i have. it has the K200 board. the only reason im asking is because the links for the M8 version at the beginning of this thread says M8 2Gb models, is that 2Gb of ram or something else please.

GPU: Octo-core Mali-450MP 3D GPU
Storage: 8GB NAND Flash
System RAM: 2GB DDR3
