      Hello,

First i want to thank you for the great work.

I have installed the openelec 6.0.0 and it works great but the pvr. I saw you already fixed it and since I mostly use that part of kodi i was wondering if you could post an intermediate release with the fix instead of waiting a long time with more improvements.

      Thanks again

Hi I just bought a M8 box (S802 with 2 GB of RAM and 8GB of Flash memory) from Amazon. The seller is DB Power. The box inside shows OTT TV Box. I flashed the OpenELEC 6.0 as I did with another M8 box (G-Box Q), which works beautifully. This OTT TV Box finished flashing successfully. It boots fine into OpenELEC but then it's stuck on the main Confluence screen with no menu.

The box looks exactly the same (M8 on top and a blue triangle in front) as the one Fed10 posted a few days ago.

I'm wondering if somebody has similar issues and would be able to help.

        Thanks,
        Ekcennel

I am having troubles getting openelec to even startup the installation process on a Amazon M8 OTT TV box sold by Globmall. I have flashed other android boxes without a problem. Ive formatted the sd card, copied over the 3 files from OpenELEC-Amlogic.M8.arm-6.0.0.zip, insert the sd card, hold down the reset button in the a/v port, plug in the power and it just hangs on the M8 quad core logo forever. Any idea? Turning the box on with sd card boots fine into android k200 build 4.4.2.

Hi, I have spent the past 20 minutes looking for upgrade instructions. I'm feeling a bit dim, could someone point me in the right direction please?

Further updates on mine is.. Ive tested with multiple sd cards also tried a usb thumb drive. Exact same result every time. Whether I use ver 6.0 or 5.03 of codesnake, or attempt kerber's versions all I receive is a hung logo screen. If I have no external drive plugged in and I go through the recovery with toothpick, I do see it say Rebooting at the bottom after it failed to detect a drive.. I have also checked file manager within android to verify the box can detect the sd cards or usb thumbdrives and that has no issues. Even attempted going into android - system update and selecting the zip file - it auto rebooted, and hung at the logo screen again (though this time it created a .wipe file on the sd card and a lost dir) So I don't think there is anything wrong with my box or the sd cards. My only guess is the recovery.img file isnt compatible with mine. model number k200 android 4.4.2 build k200.bcm4335.201512021815 kernel 3.10.33

Where can I find the remote file?

It could be faulty onboard memory which fails to write all files to box

If you are interested to porting openelec to the amlogic s905 tv box? We would love to support some device for you, contact me via PM if you are interested.

                    Thanks
Please create an openelec build for S905, I want to buy one but it doesn't have openelec (yet).

Load back Android for you M8, ( hoping you have the flash); Now put a bluetooth mouse or keyboard dongle into one of the USB port then without SDCard in the slot, toothpick into the box and boot. The box will go into recovery mode, scroll to wipe-flash let it do a clean wipe, then choose wipe-cache, now do not reboot, insert the SDCard into the slot with the OE update file you want to load on the box, then select update.ext. Let it load OE. This should get OE to load. The reason you use a bluetooth mouse or keyboard is the remote will not work in recovery mode on some M8, for you to make selections. Post your reply.

There are a few images available for the MX8 S85 (Version with Red stripe and button on top) and the MXQ HD18Q (Black version) that work great, I think the latest is 5.95.x.x - images on s805.eu/releases obviously make sure you have the correct MXq version for your box.

Could anyone tell me how to create an SD card image for the MX2 G18ref box?

I would like to install it on SD card but I can't find an img.gz for that box and I'm not sure if it;s possible to 'convert' a normal image to img.gz.

                          Thanks.

To boot from sdcard you need a bootloader that is able to do that.

Okay thanks. Sorry I am only seeing your reply now, I would have replied straight away had I seen it earlier.
Is there a bootloader for the MX2 G18ref that boots from SD card? I guess not or someone would have done it before, or at least mentioned it...
