I downloaded and installed this on a GBOX MX2 (8726MX), but Wifi is running super slow.

      Ethernet works just fine.

I am an advanced user, and the router is 2 feet from the unit.

      Any ideas?

I have no clue. Ive been running this same rom since I've compiled it. Some of my friends and family members are running this same rom also without issue. Must be at your end. Check your bandwith, link speed, signal... add an advance settings xml or revert back to 15.2.

Speed, bandwidth and signal are not the issue.

I have other different boxes not running this firmware and they run fine.

What do I need to add to my advancedsettings.xml?

Going back to 15.2 is not an option as some addons are no longer compatible and are having Dependencies issues.

You can as i have on my box, an advance xml file. Go to maintenance tool, then system tweaks, then click on create-edit-advance-settings tab. Click on edit settings then on network settings then network again. Click on cachmembuffersize and set to 52,248,600 Wich equates to 50mb. Your box will use 150mb. Of ram for video caching. Then click on buffermode set to 1, and lastly readbufferfactor set to 20, after setting it, back out 3 times. Then click on write xml file. once done reboot device, try out again. This is the same settings i have on my box...

                  Right, i'll try it out.
The work put into delivering a great rom is very much appreciated!
I tried newer boxes with different builds but somehow i keep returning to the good old MX2 :-)

                  So, thanks !

I tried the advancedsettings.xml tweaks and that did not work.

I tried the unit on Wifi at 3 different locations and all the same result.

I will just run it on ethernet.

Either way great work. The unit runs like a champ with 16.0 installed using ethernet.

If this is yours mx box. i thing its a different wifi chipset than mine. I have mx2/g18! You have GBOX MX2 (8726MX) ... That might be issue here.

Just to confirm; i have the box shown in the second picture (the black one).
I tried wifi just to confirm and it does seem to be a bit slow. Doesn't matter as the only use i would see for wifi is as a hotspot. This works under Android, but not in OpenElec.
                          Wired it is..;-)

Has anyone here got OpenElec working on a T8 or M8 (black aluminium box)? Is there an SD card version for testing?

                            Thanks
