Cube Talk 9x (U65GT) chinese link to V2.0 ROM

What version is your Cube Talk 9X? Black. white, 16GB, 32GB, date on the back?

Do you notice any differences?

Cube Talk 9X White 16 gb Date 1438. Flash by going to settings/about tablet/system update.
Of course first place "update.zip" on SD Card. I must say that I did not notice any differences other than a new wallpaper (which I think is an improvement).

I'm going to try flashing this on 1441 black 16 GB version. Wish me luck

If I understood correctly there's some backup update if touchscreen becomes inoperable with the primary one. The download for that file is very very slow and unstable. Not flashing anything before I get it.

You can find the "repair update" from drive.google.com and pan.paidu.com (password: dz7l). I think that you can download it faster from google drive. If you break your touch screen function you have to flash the "repair update" via SP Flash Tool.

There is now two V2.0 firmwares (November and December). You can find November firmware from pan.paidu.com (password: nxfk), mega.co.nz and 51cube.com. You can find December firmware from pan.paidu.com (password: u7h6).

the launcher has been totally changed and tablet become really slow, I didn't understand how to go into app menu to unistall chinese stuffs too.

This is not a STOCK rom, but a custom rom! On settings rom date is the SAME of v.2.0 of November.

I revert back on November v.2.0 ROM, that I really liked!

the launcher has been totally changed and tablet become really slow, I didn't understand how to go into app menu to unistall chinese stuffs too.

This is not a STOCK rom, but a custom rom! On settings rom date is the SAME of v.2.0 of November.

I revert back on November v.2.0 ROM, that I really liked!

Think I agree with you. I will also return to November ROM. After using this one for 2 days, I prefer the previous one.

Cube Talk 9X

So I just got my white Cube Talk 9X 16GB.

Build number is: 0502L012_EP79-U65GTB18MXXTDC_V2.0_20141111
Custom build version is 1415687229
Number on back of device is: U65GT16GB14493450339
Chrome works out of the box.
Double tap to wake up tab works very good
I cant seem to find any issue with white backgrounds, they just seem... white.
I cannot find any chinese apps.


What are the flaws I should be looking for?
Any other info anyone wants? Just ask.

So far I am very pleased with the cost/performance ratio of this device.

Touch screen still working

A few minor obstacles on the way...
- I decided a factory reset would be a neat idea before flashing, but then had to work out how to get settings back to English!
- This version seemed to permanently install many more Chinese apps. Makes me nervous. What's the best way to deal with them? I'm wary of rooting. For now I cleared all their data and disabled them all although a couple seem stubborn. What is "FM" anyway?!

uninstall "FM", that prevent deep sleep to work.
to uninstall all chinese apps you need to be root and use titanium backup, after that tablet will run a lot better!

To become root you can flash TWRP recovery (you will not lose data) and install supersu.zip from there.

Thanks! All that information is welcome. What I found interesting is that you don't have any chinese apps. Are you really sure? Maybe reseller has deleted them or they now delete them in the factory. It would be nice to have "chinese apps deletor" script for V2.0 like olders versions have (link). Some users are not familiar with titanium backup or manual delete these apps via root browser.

Good for you! I have no idea what these chinese apps are or what they do. I have only disabled them via settings and everything seems to be good. I don't see them popping up anymore anywhere. You can delete chinese apps after rooting with titanium backup or root browser. You should be able to root Talk 9X easily with this (link).

Now I'm even more convinced that the screen has changed from OGS to IGZO screen in the batch 1426. That is why V2.0 update breaks touch screen function in the tablets which have produced before batch 1426. I think that the tablet's color has nothing to do with dead touch screens. Only thing that matters is what screen you have (OGS or IGZO). Of course this is only my conclusion.

What I also believe is that grainy screen issue is caused by poor quality of inner film in IGZO screen only. Not all tablets with IGZO screen suffer this problem. User can see that grainy screen issue only if the inner film is poor or poorly inserted. That is the reason why I for example have perfect screen (tablet from 1430 batch). I think that if you have grainy screen tablet you should be able change it to new one. Check out my post with pictures in other thead if you want know more (link).

Actually, I am not 100% sure. What would they be named, looked for apps with Chinese alphabet letters or whatever they are called. There are zero apps with Chinese letters.

I guess I have to try them all.
