I guess I have to try them all.
I'm not with tablet now so I can't check. But if I remember right there was chinese versions of UC browser and Clean Master and some other apps too. Definitely there are chinese letters in apps names.

Double checked all apps, none are Chinese.

flash TWRP recovery with SP_flashtool (no data loss).
          Bootup with TWRP recovery
Install supersu binaries from there (it's a ZIP file)

          root done!

Can any of you do backups with Titanium Backup? Keeps telling me there is no storage room left even though I already did the SD Card fix in Platform.xml.

So, I also noticed that the gestures in 2.0 also screw up external keyboards. The generic.kl in the system keylayout folder that is reponsible for mapping keys assigns some of the keys to "GESUTURES" even if you don't have that particular gesture assigned. So the W key won't work on the external keyboard because it is trying to fire the W gesture.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this without losing gestures?

                  Do you have superSU installed?
if yes, remove the thik in the option box of supersu relevant su namespace separation...
It will do the trick for you!

                    Thanks, that fixed it.

Regarding the gestures, I copied a 1.8 ROM version of Generic.kl and Qwerty.kl over while keeping only Gesture 0 which is the double tap for waking up from sleep. That one was bound on the Power button which keyboards usually don't have (and if they do, I don't care if they don't work).

It's not ideal since it eliminates every other gesture besides that one but at least I can manually replace the files to restore gestures OR keyboard. Would still appreciate if someone can come up with a more professional solution though.

There's been plenty of discussion about ROM V2.0_20141111
                          .

But I see no mention of ROM V2.0_20141024. This is on two white tablets I bought and actually seems to have some advantage. In particular, all but one of the Chinese apps can be uninstalled without rooting. There seems less bloat!
Is there a .zip for this version? Anyone else used it?

never seen it, in any case it is older than "common" V2.0...

Is there any possibility of getting a rom (custom?) that supports multi user?
Or do they already do that and I have just missed it?

Oh, and for some reason my GPS doesn't seem to work with 2.0 roms, anyone have a fix for that?

                              Cheers
                              J

For multi user you can use xposed framework +module Multiple Users for phone.
It wor for me. For gps no solutions found.
