Cube Talk 9x (U65GT) chinese link to V2.0 ROM

You will probably never see this update as a real ota.
Cube "OTA" is generally a file update.zip downloaded from cube and installed from recovery.

I see. So is this what you guys have found "the official update" from cube? And does anyone know if this is fixing battery percentage issue. My GFs Cube is white 16Gb (serial num. 1430...) so I gues it would be safe to flash the zip-file.

no one is SAFE for sure!
You need to try and hope, you can always go back to the "restoring touchscreen version", that has been posted here.
I will try this new version very soon...

If it is white - yes.
All black Talk 9X - incompatible.

FIRST TESTS ON 2.0 ROM:

- My tablet has been built on week27 and touchscreen is working!
- double tap to wake up is working
- gestures are present (not tested yet)
- upgrade installed on stock July Rom from System update (file renamed: update.zip), no APP/DATA lost and upgrade performed properly!!!! It's important to have stock recovery BEFORE upgrading.

I'll give you other feedback after more testing

LEPI BRIGHTNESS PATCH unfortunately make tablet continuously reboot .....
other than that tablet is working properly with 2.0 ROM

Nice, could you see if battery percentage is stucked with this v2.0 after a few hours on idle?
Maybe chinese corrected this damn bug in v 2.0 kernel.

Have you rooted it?? I tried the upadate.zip present here, and it isn't working, SuperSU tells me that SU binary needs to be updated. It was working fine with V1.8

Everybody has same bug, no doubt about that.
About complains...maybe just a few noticed strange battery behaviour here.
On 4PDA forum is a large number of users who complain about this.
To avoid this and for keeping battery accuracy I just shutdown tablet when not using.

Yes of course, the v2.0 is already rooted with a chinese root superuser, I uninstalled it via Titanium backup and rebooting in recovery (TWRP recovery), I installed binary of supersu 2.16.zip (you can find it on google).
Then I uninstalled all chinese apps present in the ROM that make the tablet extremely slow!

very bad news:

the deep sleep function seems not working on 2.0 ROM....
I need a little more testing, if it is confirmed I will swtich back on 1.8!

Deep sleep is working again now!!!!
There was a preinstalled chinese app called "FM" that locked the cpu always on! I uninstalled it through titanium backup and now ROM 2.0 version is perfectly working!!!

On settings--tablet information, where is "system updates" there is also another settings for "FOTA" Firmware Over The Air Updates, it could be a very interesting feature for next firmware upgrades if Cube will use it!!

How big is the app storage? 4/6 GB like in 900supersports' ROM or the standard (and small) 2 GB?

Also, just so I understand this correctly: You just downloaded the ROM "U65GT_V2.0_update_aatt_20141115.zip", reflashed stock recovery (do you have a link for that one? I am not sure I backed that one up) and that was it? Nothing with Flash Tools and such, right?

I am asking because MTKDroidTools is not working properly for me. It does back my stuff up, but neither the NVRAM button nor preparing the files for Flash Tool are working. So I have a bunch of files but I couldn't even use them even if I wanted.

the storage is 2Gb, but when I flashed stock recovery (present in ANY SS900 roms) I flashed also EBR1 and EBR2 for 4Gb app space (flashing 4Gb app space you will lose pictures and files downloaded).

So now I have ROM 2.0 with:
gestures
FOTA updates
4Gb app space
Root with supersu
Chrome working (fixed by rom 2.0 stock)
no data loss
