So now I have ROM 2.0 with:
    gestures
    FOTA updates
    4Gb app space
    Root with supersu
Chrome working (fixed by rom 2.0 stock)
    no data loss
    any difference 1.8 and 2

    advice

i think for new v2 update.zip need original recovery.need to remove root to install new ver 2? or simply flash original recovery with 4gb partition and use up date.zip for ver2.

      differences found so far:

stock and custom gestures (and resume from sceen off with double tap)

      FOTA updates
      Chrome working stock

      looking for others....

you do not need to remove root, you ONLY need stock recovery

          Sounds good!

I just want to make sure I get this right before I attempt this:

          1) Flash stock recovery and EBR1 and EBR2 4 GB from 900supersports 1.8 ROM (I already have the 1.8 ROM with increased app storage, do I still need to flash EBRs?)
          2) Boot into stock recovery and have it install the 2.0 ROM I downloaded. Or do I just rename the file I downloaded to update.zip and install it from System UI so the tablet automatically goes into recovery itself?
          3) Install SuperSU as an update.zip
          4) Get Titanium Backup and remove all the bloatware

          Is this correct?
Did you have any issues with your IMEI at all? As I said earlier, MTKDroidTools is not able to backup the nvram.bin so I have to be sure it won't get lost when I do this.

First of all make sure to have a WHITE tablet produced AFTER week 26 of 2014!

            then:

1 - if you already have 4Gb partitioning, you DO NOT need to flash it again, but stock recovery is mandatory.
2 - rename the ROM_2.0 file in update.zip and put in root folder of microSD card, update must be performed via the relevant option in: settings->tablet information->system updates (no data will be deleted)
3 - after update, reflash TWRP recovery
4 - reboot and through Titanium backup uninstall ALL the new chinese apps (including chinese ROOTING! and wakelock chinese "FM" app)
5 - reboot into TWRP and install supersu binary

Installed on 2 different WHITE tablet produced on week 27 and 29 without any issue on touchscreen AND no IMEI has been lost.

I suggest you to perform a complete backup with TWRP on external microSD before flashing, just to avoid and possible problem...

Patch for version 2.0 (lower brightness, reduces Auto Brightness and new Power_Profile)

Hello, my friends. At the request of giouncino I made a patch for the firmware version 2.0, which reduces manual brightness, reduces Auto Brightness and improves battery discharge statistics.
              upd_U65GT_2_0_autobr_PwrProf.zip
Install only through modrecovery (CWM ot TWRP). There are no guarantees! pre-backup is required!
              Checked user giouncino.
Statistics can only operate properly after deleting a file batterystats.bin from folder
              /data/system and reboot.

All of this worked, thank you very much.
The only new entries I left in Titanium Backup are Gestures 1.0 and BlackGestures 1.0. Rest could and should be safely deleted/frozen (except maybe the stock browser but I never use that one anyway so I removed it as well).

It didn't solve my issue with the Mi Band but at least it wakes when tapping so that's awesome.

Could you help me? I installed stock recovery with flashtool then restart my tablet and tryed to systemupdate but when i clicked confirm then "yes" it doesnt do anything. What should be the problem? And before this all in twrp i was unable to cache davlik/ cache it shows to me failed all the time.

Did you rename the update file as update.zip?
Did you put the file on ROOT directory of the microSD?

                              step by step

                              hey there

i got the white 16 GB tablet version with week 32 or something

i read all sorts of instructions here, can someone please guide me on how to:

-how to back up stock ROM?
-how to find those EBR1 files in that 1.8 ROM that was mentioned so i can get 4 GB app space?
-how to flash TWRP recovery in the fist place so i can re-flash it later?, the tablet as it came from factory does is have its own recovery(i haven't modified anything yet)
                              - i haven't worked with titanium backup, can i use ROM tool box pro to remove or freeze app features?
                              - can i use kingo root to root the phone with SU? or is supersu needed? (if so where can i find it?

sorry for all the questions i just never had a tablet its my first one and i don't want to mock it up by doing something wrong

                              cheers

                                Hi,

I received my freshly new black 32gb u65gt tablet and i would put a custom rom. The Rom already installed seems to be a v2.0 rom (see pics) !

Can i put your custom rom v2.0 safely ?
