Screen issues date back to the 9X

Apparently Cube made a change in the type of screen they used in the Talk 9X somewhere in the production schedule, and it created issues for some buyers.
So the 'grainy' screen issue goes back to the 9X, and has come forward to the T9 ..and some T9 users have experienced touch issues. Some were fixed by removing the screen protector, like hammerjoe did.
Others ...not sure. There was one who removed the glare film from the underside of the outer glass. I think I read of one report where the tablet was actually sent back. Was there more than one returned??
Before we jump on Cube too much, it might be we are still somewhat early into the T9s life cycle, and these things usually correct themselves in due course.
Having had a good experience with the 9X for the time I owned it, I am a little surprised that Cube had this issue at all ...but I shouldn't be. These China tab manufactuers are changing things constantly, and ....this weeks golden tablet brand could be next months problem tablet brand.
Every brand I can think of has had it problems, and will have them again.
This looks to be a quality control issue. Builders like Cube and Teclast buy parts in bulk and bring all those pieces together to make a tablet on an assembly line. Sometimes they have bad parts; other times they have QC issues.
If they had bought a bad batch of screens, then you would have a slew of tablets with screen issues ...not just the relatively few we have seen here.
Again ...hopefully this will rectify itself soon!
True story.
Here in the states GE came out with a new washing machine under a new name. They did not expect the amount of sales orders that came in, and production could not keep up.
To try and keep up with demand, they went to a small town not far from the main plant; opened a separate assembly line in a vacant building to put together transmissions for the washers. They hired local people for the work, put them through a quick training course ..and started building transmissions.
One my end we started selling these new washers at wholesale by the thousands.
It took about about a month for everyone to realize we were selling washers with bad transmissions from the small town where the quickly trained workers were not putting oil in the transmissions.
After a while, it was all fixed. Still there was a lot of anxiety for a good period of time.
This happened years back ..and I was personally involved.Last edited by BamaPanda; 22 February 2015, 15:38.Cube T9; Pipo M8 Pro (on life support); LG gPad

My tablet is root but I tried everything but I always had the writing of the script error message. I desperately need more space to install my apps but alas. I have a well recognized by the tablet 256GB card.
Now in relation to the partitioning I am not sure it is necessary. It's not wise to be running FAT32 partition under an android environment. Fat32 is very inefficient, and is very slow to write to. Also if you have done it in order to have it recognised within your windows machine, then your approaching this all wrong. Removing the microsd card regularly is only begging for problems. If you must transfer data from your tablet to your computer and vice versa, do it over wireless with es file Explorer.
Lastly Link2sd can move your apps from the system partition to the user partition. The problem with the cube is how they have partitioned the internal microsd. Typically Linux based systems suggest that its best practice to assign one partition at root mount point ( /) and all user data including apps on another partition. This is also done for security reasons. Android system appears to always default app installations outside user data's partition which cube has only assigned 2gb to the root point. Hence the usefulness of Link2sd.
Now I am not entirely sure of this, but script error will occur for two reasons,
1. the destination partition is not compatible.
2. the device is not rooted properly
3. Permission issues either from the source or destination.
I'd suggest downloading a root checker app to confirm you have rooted the Device correctly.
If you are using supersu, there is an option to fix permissions against all apps.
I am yet to read anyone has been able to edit the assigned sizes of these partitions.
It's not wise to be placing installed apps on your external microsd, as the system will mount anything external during boot until the end, not healthy for a working app.
Also when partitioning you can get Link2sd to do it, I think. But seriously I'd steer clear of partitioning your microsd at all.Last edited by Riddick; 22 February 2015, 15:59.

Companies like Cube have the same problems, hopfully not making dumb mistakes like GE. As I said ..it is usually QC that can be corrected quickly by a better company. Let's hope Cube is one of those better companies!

My 2 Cents.
I have had my Cube T9 for a month now. When I first got it I also had the strange touch problems where when I tried to move App Icons they wouldn't move but instead would launch. You had to use a super light touch to move them. This mysteriously cleared up within a day or two and the touch Screen has worked perfect since (possibly due to the firmware upgrades?). I have not removed the screen protective film. The tablet is very fast, battery life is fantastic and boot time from off is very quick. The biggest issue I still have is it will lock up a couple of times each time I use it and than reboot. This seems to happen the most when watching a streaming video. When this happens for some reason I have to turn off my Wifi router for it to be able to connect again. This may be related to my router and not the tablet? My biggest gripe is I cannot connect to the Internet wired using a USB Ethernet dongle. Every other Android Tablet I have owned I could do this. For some reason I can't with the Cube. This is probably not important to most but still important to enough people.
Prior to this I had two Samsung Tab pro 10.1's. I say two because I took the Tablet back twice. It was a fantastic Tablet on sale most of the time for a great price and YEAH, Ethernet worked with a USB dongle. The problem i had with it was the battery would lose up to 20% in one day when turned off. Not sleep mode, totally shutdown! There was some strange parasitic drain that I could not clear up even after factory resets, wipes, etc. That was a deal breaker for me. Before that I had a Pipo M9 Pro which worked almost flawlessly for a year and a half until the battery crapped out and just stopped holding a charge. Lately I had to charge it everyday and would only get about 2.5 hrs on a full charge. The CPU is dated and slow but like I said, the Tablet worked flawlessly. I should have maybe looked into one of their newer tablets?
By far the biggest problem with buying my Cube or most Chinese tablets is there is NO support. The only support you have for these types of Tablets is griping on Forums and hoping that someone from the company is reading the forums and working on correcting the issues. Let's face it, good reviews on the Internet can make or break a product. I think the Cube T9 has the potential of being a great Tablet, they just need to get fixing the issues brought up.

zimminy,
freeze/reboot are due to OTA ROM upgrade 1.06, if you switch back on 1.05 or before, you will immediately fix it.if you appreciate my efforts this is the link for any donation:

My experience with the T9 was exactly the same. At the start the touch seemed oversensitive, but I pressed on and today it is good, no problem.
I too kept ALL the plastic on for weeks. I still have the one screen protector in place.
I too am going to go back to 1.05, as my reboots have returned.

Screen is maybe a bit grainy, but you can recognised it only on white plus when focus on that, in games and movies and other colours, its gorgeous.
I had problems with BT connection, but in tablet settings, there is an option lossless BT and its perfect now.
So after all, everything great here with T9.
And all other devices I own, as xperia z1, meizu mx4, iPad mini, they had similar issues to fix.
But they all cost 2x -4x more.
Thumbs up Cube🙋

Is it a common problem in Canada and U.S.?
3G:850/1900MHz. CDMA
4G LTE: band 17 (700MHz), band 4 (1700/2100MHz)
But I am not sure. US and Canada use different frequencies than Europe and Asia. The Cube T9 was not built for a US/ Canadian market, so may lack the necessary frequencies to work with most carriers in these countries.

Even if it is surmised to be a bit 'grainy' when placed next to a different tab, it is really only on a white screen this might be evident, and colors are great otherwise...as they should be on a retina grade screen.
It was written early on that the matte applied on the underside of the glass was to combat glare, so there it is!
Is the glass half empty because you might not have perfect white, or is it 1\2 - 3\4 full because you have beautiful retina color with an advantage over glare? I personally choose to look at the positive side of this scenario.

1. Apple has patented currently the most sophisticated touch screens on the market. No chance u will see the same performance anywhere else, unless it's Samsung who make Apples touch screens.
2. The OS and cheap alternative components
3. No support unless you can ring them directly and speak mandarin.
I bet that even Cube didn't think they'd be so popular outside of China. Given that, they will improve out of sight knowing what they do now. The tablet and phone market is an extremely risky market to invest in, just look at the collapse of Blackberry, and so many other companies attempts at making a tablet.
Even right now, there is no competitor to the Cube T9's offering at its price point. I can only hope it will shake up the market enough, because Apple is one of the most greediest and anticompetitive. There 400% mark up is just appalling.
Lastly in relation to Ntfs, in a windows environment it's faster, adds more security features and can handle file sizes larger than 4gig compared to FAT32. All this means nothing under Android, in fact read and write operations are terrible. In saying that ext4 is far superior than both of them.Last edited by Riddick; 23 February 2015, 09:46. Reason: Corrected file size limitation of FAT32 ( thanks to Giouncino picking it up )
