Superfreak79 you're a star, this is by far the best ROM iv'e tested on the OTT M8 box. The only thing missing is an update on the status bar ..(hide status bar and off switch) would give it 11 out of 10.

I have a Matricom G Box Q - Which ROM should i use for that, is it going to be M8 version or T8 version?

Sorry a pretty new to this field...

Also can some one tell me the difference between M8 and M8N, also how can I find these specification for my Matricom G Box Q?

hi this is my 1st post iv heard so many good reports about this romand i was previously using mediamans rom for my m8, but when i try to install this rom it goes into the part where the android figure is there and the status bar and the status bar gets about a tenth of the way accross and then it just freezes any help would be much appreciated thanks

do a complete wipe format the sd card ...wait for a upcoming new release which is coming very soon running great on my m8...best rom so far

Xunity Aurora Tv Box Bricked

Hi There,

I was told that Mega-Tron T8 was the solution to my bricked Aurora Tv Box.

I am new to all this techno stuff. I bought a brand new Xunity Tv Box and by mistake I downloaded something that tried to flash my new box. I was told by the firm in Ireland where I bought the box from that I had bricked it and I needed to buy a new one.

As you can imagine I was furious as I paid £133 for the box 3 weeks ago.

Someone told me that I could use Mega-tron T8 to flash the box. I have downloaded it but how do I install it onto the box as it is a zip file.

Any HELP would be great.

I've put together something special for ENY EM8 (square) and K200 T8 (rectangle) boxes. It's called the Megatron ROM because... well... it's mega with over 40 Android apps included. The name Megatron ROM was also chosen because I hoped this ROM would transform the S802 TV box landscape and bring the joy back to Android OS.

This ROM is based on Stane1983's ENY EM8 build Version 2014-09-03 which includes:

- Kernel 3.10.53
- Rooted (SuperSU included)
- Based on Amlogic SDK from 2014-08-23
- XBMC 13.2 included
- Wifi/Bluetooth/Ethernet working
- Real sleep

I have added the following changes to the original build:

- Edited getprop to allow both eny_em8 and k200 devices
- Debloated useless stock apps apps (e.g., live wallpaper)
- Deodexed app, priv-app and framework folders
- Added dozens of apps to pick and choose from
- Offer choice between XBMC 13.2 or Kodi 14.1
- Included several popular launchers
- Extract tar.gz used to install sources for XBMC and Kodi
- Custom Megatron boot image and boot video (Courtesy of @coolwave_kodi)
- Set persistent timezone GMT via build.prop
- Silenced Android Effect_Tick system sounds
- Mapped conf file for both M8 and T8 remotes
- Custom Megatron MBox settings and launcher
- New default_wallpaper via framework-res
- Enabled init.d support via boot.img
- Added Xbox and PS3 KO modules (not tested)

I also created an Emulator update that can be flashed over-top of either M8 or T8 ROM. This update will install roughly ten game console emulator and game pad controller apps. This flash is also available at http://mega-tron.tv (see alterative link above).

When I look at other ROMs posted by the likes of Finless Bob and others, I recognize there are many more things that could've and perhaps should've been done to make this ROM better. I'll consider making further revisions to the ROM according to the feedback received.

There are two bugs that I am currently aware of: 1) Clock doesn't work on T8 boxes and 2) On-screen keyboard defaults to Chinese language. Fixing the clock issue could be fixed redoing Megatron with a T8 build as the base - but I'd much rather someone tell me how to modify the Stane ENY EM8 build to get the clock working on T8. As of now, I don't know how to fix the on-screen keyboard issue.

unzip it ...put the 3 files onto a formatted sd card insert the card then turn it on if that dont work do the toothpick method hope that helps

New and having performance issues

Heya gang.

I'm new to the EM8 having just picked up the unit this week.

I've gotten the Megatron ROM installed without issue but am having some performance issues with most of my movies.. here's the skinny:

I've got a home fileserver set up that hosts all of my downloaded movies on my local network.
I've been using my PC in the living room to watch the movies via the XBMC client.
My hopes with the M8 was to not having to keep my PC in the living room (and reduce the amount of electricity used) by just using a nice little media box instead.

I've got the XBMC client on the M8 configured and connected to my file server (SMB)

Here's my problem: Every 1080p movie I've thrown at it has show serious stutters/buffering issues to the point that there's no way I'd use the device.


Just about all of my movies are ~1080p. Some may be 720p and a select few are SD.. I did test one SD video and it seemed to play without any issues.

I haven't really played around with any of the other features of the M8 as this is really the sole reason I purchased the device.


I'm a bit stumped as to what the issue is - the device claims to be able to handle 4k resolution videos..the file format is compatible..and the source files are fine (they play fine via XBMC on my PC)

SO tell me... is the issue likely an issue with this particular ROM, or am I simply expecting too much from the M8 to expect it to be able to handle 1080p video and HD sound??

Or do you have some other ideas?

Cannot Flash the ROM

Hello,

I have a Matricom Q Box. I tried flashing this ROM but while in recovery I get the following error:

E:mount /dev/block/mcblk0pl on sdcard failed (Read Only File System), now try read-only to mount again...
E:failed to verify whole file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted

Please Help!!!
