Is there any way to connect the Beelink MXQ to a harmony remote? I tried using Beelink as the manufacturer and it didn't have them in their database. The stock remote is extremely limited and doesn't have the media controls such as stop/play/pause etc so it can't teach the harmony remote these functions. Is there any way to have the full array of functions for the MXQ using the harmony remote?

I tried one more time. It doesn't connect. The WiFi module is Realtek 8723.

Confirmed working, also will detect AP's on first boot so no need to switch wireless on.

Will donate and let Cristian know who's ported Cyanogenmod about the new wifi chip.

I test it, it doesn't work properly. But shows all wifi networks and tries to connect but doesn't. Maybe DHCP problem?

noosk I don't have a Harmony remote nor do I know how it works but I can try to help - can you enter IR codes manually for your Harmony remote?

noosk does the remote work at all with Kodi? If it does (but is limited) have you tried downloading the 'Keymap Editor' add on? as you can customize unrecognized and wrongly mapped buttons this way.

Sorry to hear that. I am experimenting trying to make a unified build for all MK808B Plus types (i.e. with Broadcom and Realtek WiFi chips). Can you confirm if the latest stable release (http://s805.eu/releases/5.0.8-20150511/, EC-MK808B version) works for you as it should?

Yes, it works. And the Beta release works without any problem (I'm currently on this version)

Edit: the bluetooth doesn't work on any version.

Running those commands through SSH will give you the IR code per button pressed - you will have to do most of the hard work getting it configured unless someone has already done it.

Is it possible do miracast with this rom? I've seen airplay option but not miracast, and when I try to connect my phone with mk808, does not find it

My all black MXQ freezes.

Within 15 minutes or less of usage my box freezes and I can only unplug and try again only to repeat the same issue.

I am using OpenELEC 5.0.8 (p8)

On initial setup I was not able to flash via toothpick method because it would never go to recovery, it would just boot up as usual. So in android I just did the update app with wipe/clean and selected the zip file. Once it was flashed and I saw the freezing I tried flashing again from SD card and toothpick method and this time it properly installed from SD card with all the 3 files in it.

Unit still freezes. It freezes anywhere, even just navigating through menus.

Any ideas what it may be?

I think I figured out what the problem was: Realtek and Broadcom SDIO WiFi driver modules can't be loaded at the same time because the WiFi stops working. Automatic WiFi driver loading did not work so I added a kernel module to support that. Can you please try the build posted below? WiFi should be working now for you. Please also test if Bluetooth works. If not, please post a dmesg grabbed right after boot.

You can add more IR codes to the remote.conf file but you also need to know the key codes.

Miracast is not possible with OpenELEC.

Another user reported that his box freezes with ondemand governor and works well with hotplug. This may be a power issue with your box. To change the CPU governor to hotplug you should create autostart.sh file with the following content:

echo hotplug > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor

and put it in Configfiles Windows share.

This can be done only by rebuilding the ROM at the moment.

I have posted a new test build. The most promiment changes from the previous test build are:

• finally fixed MAC address changing for the MXQ (tested with over 100 reboots, hope it also works for you)
• added support for AP6212 Bluetooth
• added Kodi patches from koying and jmarcet to improve playback and rendering performance
• Edit: Realtek 8723BS WiFi support
