For me both OpenELEC versions 5.0.8.20 and 5.95.5.1 on my OTT MXQ run a whole lot better than Kodi on Android, however there is one huge bug that renders this OpenELEC pretty much useless for me.

    THE ISSUE:
Very harsh screen tearing in SD content with 24p/hz mode enabled (oldish DivX / XviD content).
I couldn't catch the tearing on a screenshot and I forgot to take a picture from my TV but if neccessary I run OpenELEC off a SD card again to capture the issue.

    Test results:
    • I didn't notice any screen tearing with the "adjust refresh rate" setting disabled.
    • I tried to enable and disable the option "vertical blank sync", this made no difference in terms of screen tearing.
    • I tried to enable and disable the option "hardware acceleration", this made no difference in terms of screen tearing.
Is this a (known) bug? Is this an issue I can overcome (e.g. by changing the advanced settings)? Or is this a problem with my MXQ device?

          Hi kszaq,

First of all I really like to thank you, openelec is waaaaaaay faster then kodi is running on android. As I was running your NAND version without any problems, I tried out the sd verion on a box which was using android. I've got the HD18Q MXQ box. When I try to load openelec from SD it works perfectly, but like you said on the github, if I pull out the SD card it should boot to android. It doesn't boot to android. It looks like it's rebooting itself all over again. I see strange green stripes each 5 seconds. Is there anything i can do to make that work? I think the problem is the u-boot. I used to use an u-boot file to unbrick my device, but I think it's slightly different then yours. I'd like to hear you soon.

          Thanks again!

              Hello kashmoney .
I am using Openelec 5.95.5.2 HD18Q for my MXV box. The problem is that WIFI doens't work, only ethernet . You also have to copy remote.cnf to config dir to make remote control work. Except for that, openelec works really well with MXV.
              .

I have updated to the latest beta however the remote control still shutdowns the box and does not power back on. Anyone managed to get a solution for this on mxq? Thanks

Just a question, do you have 24hz enabled on the box? I've had problems with sound with that enabled, also have you tried aa different HDMI cable, the ones included are of low quality.

Where do I enable 24h?? I don't see it in the audio out. If it's the hdmi it worked fine with the factory firmware. I switch to a different set of TV too and it's doing the same thing.

Install Plexus first. Google for 'plexus-0.1.3.zip'.

OK... So I installed the HD18Q OpenElec on an SD card for my HD18Q box... Thinking that way I can just take out the SD card if it doesn't work... everything works but WiFi.... I want WiFi... So I try reboot to NAND... Comes back to OpenElec... Try taking out the SD card, the box just does a boot loop to the MXQ splash, then starts again... Try toothpick.. Same thing... Put the SD card back in, and it boots to OpenElec... Try SSH to reboot to recovery... Nothing... Try bootable SD with Android firmware... nothing... Just the same old bootloop... All I can do now is boot to OpenElec on SD... How can I get my Android back?
