I have uploaded my open elec log files with the failed wifi when I try to navigate to a repository. Is there anything else I can do to provide information. Thanks for help in advance

        Hi All,

I have the MXQ HD18Q (without Bluetooth) and I am trying to boot from SD. I have created the SD card using the latest img.gz file from SD release folder along with the Win32 Diskwrite tool following the Wiki Guide.

When I try to boot for the first time as stated in the guide using the toothpick method the android man appears and it starts to flash, but then reboots after the blue progress bar reaches about 25%.

EDIT: I have used a 4GB SD card formatted to FAT, however I noticed its only shows total capacity as 255MB when I check properties in windows, all 5 files total 119MB but the img.gz is 292MB

Can anyone please advise where I may be going wrong? I would really appreciate it.

        Thanks
        ace

You forgot to include this bootloader for your HD18Q http://s805.eu/releases/5.95.5.2/Boo...bootloader.zip

Extract and put that on your SD-Card then retry.

Hi kszaq, My HD18Q shows the robot then reboots to android, any ideas?

on a Mk808b+ with kszaq openelec flashed in microsd? That would be great to use three OS only changing the flash card!
                    Is it possible?

I have installed the latest version has posted and initially I was having issues with the box hanging but that seems to have resolved itself running away fine now. The issue now is everytime you reboot the box or power it up for the first time there is no sound. The only way to get the sound working is to remove the HDMI cable and plug it back in and sound works again, anyone else having this issue and is there a fix for it? Thanks.

                        Hi!

Thank you kszaq for the great work! I use my MK808BPLUS everyday, running openelec with CEC, and I consider it the best affordable system. However yesterday I was installing the latest version of the add-on Plexus and I can't get it to work. It should, because it says it is compatible with openelec and people with rpi2 can run it. Someone said maybe it was because of the kernel (??). If so, are there any plans to update it?

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

                          Hello,

I had a quick question and hopefully someone here knows the answer. I'm looking at adding a USB to Ethernet adapter to my MK808B+. In this thread I was recommended an adapter with the Asix AX88178 chipset, but those go for about $25. I have found this Asix AX88179 adapter for $15 http://www.amazon.com/Ableconn-USB3E...ct_top?ie=UTF8 The only difference seemingly being that it is USB 3.0. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this or has tried it.

                          Thanks

It looks like the Asix AX88179 will work with Openelec and Ubuntu 15 on your MK808B plus...

Early in 2013 the ASIX drivers were submitted for inclusion in the Linux Kernel. This means that if you use a recent kernel (something like 3.10 or higher), Linux directly supports the AX88179 chipset.
I would get the aluminum body version though. It should have better heat dissipation http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Unibody-...L70_SR70%2C70_

I know the axis drivers work out of the box. I am not sure with realtek?
