first check here for the program you need (apparently some 50k packages already exist)

Check if your program is available as a deb file. Next extract it with 7zip.

Copy it to openelec 5.95.5.2 on mk808bplus stick

next run this command ldd filename (after changing to copied directory) to check for any required dependencies

get the dependencies (libs if any) and copy them

You are ready to go (Your program should run). If you need help PM me and I will send you skype id

Sorry about my refference to the BOARD it is a K201. MBX .
Thank you for the link to the remote.conf It worked perfectly ON MY MXQ Build that i flashed. I did not reflash with the HD18Q just to get the remote fixed.
Everything works so far. Really appreciated.

        Hello again.

Spekkie thank you for sharing USB Burining Tool. I have made OTG cable and I have used instructions from here http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...-constantly-on. Now I am able to boot Android. However my remote is still not working. I have used this ROM http://chinagadgetsreviews.com/downl...xq-tv-box.html The device that I have got looks exactly as on this picture. So I guess it should be fine. However if remote is not working perhaps I need another one?
Anyway as I'm able to now to restore MXQ to almost original state I will try to install newest openelec 5.92.5.2 to NAND.

falc0n24 as I was trying to in my previous post, even though the exterior of many all black MXQ boxes are the same, the inside is not.
One of the things that might be different is the led and/or remote control...
That's why the best place to get your stock rom is from the place where you bought it. In my case here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/4l...2_20150609.rar

            Hello.

Yes you are right. It looks that now I have almost working MXQ with latest Openelec by kszaq. I have installed it to NAND - it has been upgraded without questions so no remote was needed. I'm able to use mouse but no remote. And yes I have LED always in turned off state (red) even when system has booted and is working OK. I would like first to manually change LED and remote settings. What options do I have?

(OT.I will try to search this forum, but I guess that in general we could use some wiki system for storing information about MXQ, Android rom, Openelec port, and all troubleshooting and typical configuration changes. IMO freaktab.com could have wiki pages sections.)

falc0n24 as stated in the first post of this forum, for the all black MXQ you have to use the HD18Q openelec rom

Spekkie Yes. I have just put remote.conf from HD18Q build into my box via ssh and now remote works. So my black OTT MXQ needs this build.. I will test it right now.

Spekkie. Hello again. This rar that should work for your box has password. I would like to try it out. It seems that my MXQ is not stable with latest Openelec build. I would like to use it with Android to be sure that this is not HW issue.

falc0n24 Right, I forgot about that...
                    Passcode: geekbuying.com

I also remembered that you cannot flash this rom with the flash tool but you have to flash it with the toothpick method.
If the flash doesn't work you can remove the xml file from the sd and use the toothpick method to boot into recovery and select the zip manualy

did you try inserting it via /storage/.config/modules-load.d/ ?

The realtek drivers available in the ROMS are:

                          RTL8188EU
                          RTL8192CU
                          RTL8192DU
                          RTL8812AU

From which one at least should work I guess...
Realtek drivers tend to seize the wrong device, so it could be that just the wrong diver is used for the module...
Could you SSH in the box and see which device comes up at lsusb? And figure out which module is used as driver?

Enother thing is that I have an all black MXQ aswell and flashing the MXQ rom screwed over my device... OpenElec did work, but I couldn't flash anything anymore. I had to revert back to the stock android rom using the Amlogic flash tool and OTG port on the device. After that I flashed the HD18Q rom and all was fine.
Mine has a board version of : S805_MXQ_V2.1_150516 and has a RTL8188ETV chip (but is recognised as a RTL8188EU).

So maybe it would be best to start over fresh by flashing the stock rom using the Amlogic flash tool and confirm that everything is working correctly. After that flash the HD18Q rom again to see if that one works...
If not we'll start from there.
Also, if you could provide a working stock rom that would be helpfull aswell...

To everyone else regarding the silence of kszaq: he hasn't left us, he's just really busy and will return somewhere in the second half of november.
Thanks for looking into this. I tried the modprobe command as suggested but it failed.

It doesn't show in lsusb but in dmesg you can see the following with the HD18Q

                              [ 632.222229@2] RTL871X: module init start

and with the MQX you get an ipaddress and internet/wifi for a few seconds then it disappears

The 8189 driver is available to download here, http://linux-sunxi.org/Wifi, can I manually install it even though it isn't in the ROM? I'm a bit of a linux newb

                              edit:
Actually it looks like the 8189ES driver is actually already there
