Please be a little more specific with what exactly is happening and how you burnt the image onto the SD card.
It just turns off tells us nothing. Does the box power off ? Does the openelec splash appear. Explain the steps you took from the beginning.
Is your box an MXV S805 ??

Thanks, but nothing has changed. Shutdown button on the remote is still a lottery. 6.0.3.4 is the latest version for my MXQ, which turns off without a hitch. Maybe I can send you some logs ? (tell me which one). Is this helps ?

        Hello to everyone.

I got a mxq s805 black box and i've flashed kszaq latest test build 6.95.2.2-develop and CEC is not working. Tested with a panasonic viera 2013

edit: also cec is not working for me in 6.95.2.2 release build

If it helps, I tried openelec on a chiptrip mxvS805 box. Can't remember which build I used, if it was on sd or nand and I think I couldn't get the remote to work. What I can recall is that it would only boot openelec if I connected the USB at the back to the USB at the side at the front. I read about this somewhere, so I can't claim discovery.

In view of this it became an android gift to a friend.

Does Kodi restart when you press power button or is there only a skin reload?

Great, you can become my new tester! But first please test 6.95.1.1 if CEC works for you.

Yes sir, with 6.95.1.1 CEC works correctly for me! This is the build I'm running yet and the only thing i noticed is that i've set my mxq to boot in TV section and, when it boots, it sometimes hang in "waiting forma pvr client". Then i shutdown and poweron from remote and it works. If you need logs, send me a PM on how to retrieve them and i 'll send them to you!

Do you still have original Android in your box? If so, what is the date of build?
I think it shouldn't matter the android version you are running, but I flashed a new version of Android in my MXV box, that I downloaded from here:

For OpenElec in SD card, I saved the image in SD using this program: Win32DiskImager.
After that, just insert the SD card and power on the box pressing the reset button under the box. I don't have this problem, but some people report that the box turns off during this process, and they have to also keep pressing the power button in the top of the box.

                  .

So I am not the only one having problems with CEC, and with a different TV brand than mine...
What problem do you have with CEC? Is it the command buffering problem?

Hard to say. I use <splash>false</splash> in advancedsettings.xml. I clean it and check.

Thank you. I'll make Kodi suspend as well (like the box does) on power button press and we'll see if this resolves your issue.

I think this may be the best route for compatibility. Even though I don't use CEC it's important to remember that my box has always been iffy with power off and reboot BUT suspend has been working perfectly with the last four or five builds, apart from the time slipping out of sink on resume which may have been sorted, haven't had time to check.

Interesting to note that even though me and kostaman have the same board he has always stated that power off and reboot work fine for him so it must be something to do with the bootloader, perhaps! I have stock bootloader but I think kostaman may have flashed a different android ROM i.e. Different bootloader. Anyway just thought I'd mention it.

EDIT: And of course same board doesn't mean same firmware/bootloader when new.

                                New build to test: http://s805.eu/test/r22630-g8a99467/

                                Changelog (from last test build):
                                • More changes in CEC for mwp1 peppearci and kostaman to test - you have to know that all the CEC-related fixes I'm doing recently are shots in the dark as it's been working for me from the beginning. I hope I'll be able to fix it at some point.
                                • Suspend on power button press.
