By the way, I had to skip the step about rebooting because, as I said previously, the stock recovery just rewrites the stock firmware back. So rebooting to stock rcovery for me eliminates ArcTools and the rooting done to the device and you have to start again. Other devices have better stock recovery.

I will try the term emulator method and hope for luck. When I tried it with the latest 4.2.2 on the 808B last week it did not work. I am really not sure why the factories are shipping the roms this way. Not sure what part of the rom they are messing with to cause such difficulties. Not sure how they think it benefits them?!?!

Thanks for the suggestion. Even with this method the same error is constant - "can't find misc" and then "can't mount /cache/recovery/command" and also "can't find misc" with 4 errors "can't mount /cache/recovery/log" "can't open /cache/recovery/log" "can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log" and "can't open /cache/recovery/last_log"
It's nice to see the CWM menu but an awful tease that every selection ends in an error.

cwm not controlable on MK802IIIs BT ?

            Hi,

i installed the latest iMito MX2 rom 4.2.2 and like to have a working cwm to backup the stick. I downloaded the cwm from this link.

I extracted the zipfile and flashed it with terminal session into the recovery partition. After a reboot into recovery the cwm comes up but is not controlable with mouse or keyboard. cannot step up and down in the menu ?

who can help ? think I installed the wrong a bug version of cwm. which cwm is the right one for me ?

Have an MK802IIIs with BT and iMito MX2 rom 4.2.2

            thanks in avance

That's an idea. Normally, I use an K400 wireless keyboard and maybe that's the reason ? Will try to use a standard keyboad but it's suboptimal

Frank, I use the same keyboard on neo x5 and mk802b in cwm without problems
Put the receiver in another usb/otg port, I remember I had to do that before, to get it recognized.

Is a good idea too put the remote receiver at least 15 cm from the box, use an extension usb wire or something like that.

Is there any way to modify the generic CWM to work with the new KitKat partitioning?

I am using fun recovery binary, I tried to compile from cm sources my own binary, but no success, if kitkat needs to backup and restore the metadata partition, then cwm will not work. But I had no time to play with kitkat yet.

If you are using a 4.2 Rom you can't install cwm following that way, you need to use a pc to flash it or if your device is rooted then you can use terminal emulator, in the rk3188 section I made a guide, follow it.

You dont need cwm to install any Finless Rom, cwm is an option for the stick.
