the burning of the ROMs they don't even boot up. i turn them on, and absolutely
nothing happens... what should I do?

Incidentally, when I put the regular 1.6 ROM version which was for the MK808 (without

is why i tried the other ROMs for 808B).

    any hints appreciated.

i didn't see any responses here, so while waiting i decided to just try flashing the ROM a few
more times. eventually, everything took and now all working fine ! i have no explanation for
why this was needed. but i ain't complaining.

Yes you are correct! thanks very much for the info. Installing the Nova launcher solved my problem.
      Thanks again

        mk808 flash fullscreen playback

Hey, thanks for great rom Finless! There is one issue that I can't find a workaround for though. Every time I try to play a flash video in fullscreen browser crashes (tried stock, dolphin and firefox). I know there was issue with mk802 and the workaround was to install app to hide system bar but your rom is hiding it automatically already. Does anyone else have this issue?

I just bought a new usb to lan adapter ecause my old rd9700 was freezing my device (mk808b from geek)
The new one (asix ax88772) isn't fast in copying files froma samba server. I made some test here (post #13):

I think at this point that the problem is in the device or in the rom (finless 1.7).
Can someone explain me why the lan speed is so slow?
          Thank you all

First thing I suspect is the power supply itself! It appears that the power supply that comes with these gadgets (I'm talking about the power supply of the TV stick here) is so weak that the Android is just about on the edge of crashing all the time. There is enough evidence that proves that many of them are unstable because of the power supply. It is very likely, and in fact, I'd pretty much bet on it, that when you plug stuff into the tv-stick and draw power from it, that that is just enough to get you under the threshold where things were still stable. I bet you, that when you plug in something in the USB port that you will not be able to get through an entire Antutu benchmark test. It'll probably crash where the sworded knights show up. Or the scene after that which is a roughly tough test!
The fix is there not to crutch your way through by using powered hubs or looking for "better" USB-LAN dongles, but to REPLACE the power supply of your stick! The PS-Vita power adapter seems to be the way to go. It's probably engineered properly and it can handle the sudden power spikes that the stock power supply clearly can not handle. I also bet that wifi performance suffers as well because of all of this. I bet that some people are trying to solve wifi issues by using USB-Ethernet dongles, while in fact, the whole problem was the power supply!
I wouldn't trust the cheap clone power supplies you see online either. I'm seeing like $2 power supplies online, delivered. WTF! And when you open up one of those, you'll see how underpowered everything about it, really is.

Power supply ! Scroll up and down here ! I bet you this applies to your problem as well ! Every time the stick needs a sudden power surge, the power supply doesn't provide it, voltage drops, and poof, game over !

it`s not a little expensive but..

Any quality PSU must work, I suggest psvita cause is easy to find at least here in Spain, in every games shop, shopping center, or technology seller you can find it here in Spain, and in other countries i thought that was the same, but any quality made PSU must work, I think that apple power supplies must work too.

                  hello
do you know how many watts or mA psvita has?
I`m not sure if apple works good because it is a recharger and may have some switch to control the power output.. Apple products are strange and often work good together..

edit: googlin`around i have seen there are at list 2 different power supply, 1500 and 2000mA.
I read that mk808b need at list 2000mA to work..

Psvita its 1,5A, but it can safe give 1,8A without get so hot(tested by me), its not only Wattage problem, bad quality PSU gives noises to the board, and those noises make unnestability problems. If the Apple charger gives a constant 5V without up and drops, you will see the difference.

People should not be so gun-ho on "2A" or what's written on the power supply. It does not matter what is written a power supply. What does it mean? It means that is has 2A written on it. It does not it can provide 2 amps. Plus what happens when there is a sudden power surge. A good power supply will immediately provide what's asked without (even temporarily) dropping voltage. There could be something wrong other than pure wattage that's up with it.

If people are having trouble finding a power supply, it's possible to concoct something yourself. The problem with USB power supplies that generally they tend to be weak. Chargers for cell phones are most most likely way too weak. You need a 5V DC source. Any of the larger adapters (doesn't have to be huge, just not puny) would be really good. But it must be 5V, not 6V, not 4.5V, but 5V. If you have one of those, then try this:

                              - pick a usb cable that you can normally use with the original stick.
                              - cut the cable near, but not up to, the large usb end, leaving a few inches.
                              - Expose the wires on the part that can plug into the original power supply.
                              - Measure to see which wires provides GND and 5V.
                              - Cut the cable of the new power adapter, near the plug.
                              - Expose those wires at the end
                              - Measure to see which is 5V and which is GND
                              - You now know which wires to solder together. 5V->5V GND->GND
                              - Solder or attach. Tape it up to insultate.

Tada, a home brewed USB power supply on steriods.

ps. do at your own risk. If you do it wrong and break something, I will not be held responsible. But come on, it is pretty basic... Flashing a ROM is way more complicated (I hope).

Honestly Andromoid, and thank you for posting this! But posting this info here only helps people using my 1.7 and MK808. This info is generic to EVERY TV Stick!

Please post this info in the power supply post or in my opinion help by posting this in our FAQ thread.

This thread is about my 1.7 ROM and discussions about it. What you keep posting here (power) is not specific to this 1.7 ROM.

                                Make sense?
