Upgraded to the new firmware today, and it looks good, i miss the windows 8 style UI however, everything else looks good, it's rooted, I was able to change the lcd density to 240 to make the text and icons look proper after setting resolution to 1080p. Also, the first thing I did was to uninstall Kodi and install SPMC 14.2 which works great, I don't have any problems like skipping etc., however, I'm strictly using SPMC. Downloaded a 4K sample video Timescapes and it played flawlessly in SPMC, same video doesn't play in my all black MxQ box, however, MxQ is great for anything upto 1080p as it plays it flawlessly.
Definitely a good box that can do 4k effortlessly will buy more of these, however, I would like to see the Mbox Style UI like other boxes (windows 8 look), I backed up the Mbox Launcher and settings from my MxQ box and tried to install it in X2 however, the installation failed.
My MxQ box is true 1080p as well and the firmware included the MBox Launcher which works great with it, I'm use It can be done on this box as well, so please try to include MBox style launcher in the next release. Thanks.

Not sure about the X2.
Does anyone know if any non Tronsmart firmware will work with that chipset?
I don't know much about this devices but could get el cheapo USB wifi card to work with it? i.e. what chipset TRIGTOP's firmware supports? maybe I can just buy usb equivalent to make it work.
BTW... I really like TRIGTOPs firmware, my only issue there is no wifi support. :-( I think it is much better as it supports more video codecs if I understand it correctly.
Any help would be much appreciated. :P

One thing I want to ask if it is possible to add support for VPN? No vpn apps are working and installing TUN.ko installer does not help.
You should be able to get a working VPN by following this.
R-TV BOX S10, Beebox N3150, Chuwi Hibox, Nvidia Shield, A95X Max

2, USB cable download
steps1: download update_X2_V103k4.img and phonixsuit. prepara an A-A male USB cable.
steps2: install phonixsuit on your PC (win7 or other OS) and open it. Locate update_X2_V103k4.img in the download page.
steps3:Connect USB cable to PC.
steps4:On the bottom of the BOX and near the Power connector, there is a hole and an update key inside. Pressing the key through the hole with a pin ,and then plug the another side of the USB cable to the BOX USB port, the one nearby the power. The usb cable will supply power and the box will enter update state.
No reaction on box switching on. And one more thing - when I pressing key through hole the box do not switching on by power key...
Maybe I do something wrong? It looks like my PC do not recognize tv box at all. I can try to change cable but maybe there are different reason?Last edited by n25; 29 July 2015, 14:02.

After few days of trying new things playing with different firmware overall I'm happy/satisfied with my purchase - Tronsmart Draco H3.
I found their 1080p kernel to work best with my device. I believe it is the only firmware that supports built-in wifi chipset. The only thing I changed was the display density to 240 from 160 (in build.prop file if I'm not mistaken). Another big component was installing latest SPMC 15.0 instead of using preloaded kodi 14.2. Now all my addons are working, no more io error messages. My previous issues with SMB folders are not existent anymore.
The biggest problem I have with this device is flaky builtin wifi module. I'm not sure if new driver would fix it or not. I was getting about 2.5mbps download, which limits video /smb media streaming to SD quality, forget about 720p and above content. To see if things would improve I connected 7 port usb hub (with its own power). I put mouse usb transmitter along with my old usb-to-thernet wii adapter. It improved things drasticly as was getting 25mbps, which allowed me to play from my smb shares (including 1080p content).
My question to all android gurus, is it possible to install a usb wifi adapter that would work much better with Draco H3 (I can use another firmware if that is the case)? I'm not sure how Android OS works and if I need special drivers for it or is this something builtin into the kernel?
Also what is recommended advancedsettings.xml for Draco H3 to improve video streaming?
