FYI, OTG is just a fancy name for smaller USB connection (in my opinion). I have updated several units that does not have the OTG. I used the std size USB connection and has no issues upgrading images on various units that does not have the OTG..ie M8 (as recently as last week)

And you might need the special compiled kodi version from zidoo x1

Hmm.. or much better (well for me)
Openelec with the special kodi version

            Not quite.

OTG also allows the box to be seen as a mass storage/MTP device that enables easy and quick transfer of files across a cable instead of having to use wifi.

Been playing with this box over the last week or so and have had a horrible experience so far with playing video on the stock rom. Every single file video ive thrown at it so far (mp4, mkv, hevc) plays sluggishly in XBMC and Archos. I'm going to try the 1080p firmware later to see how it does but not very hopeful as it cannot properly play video very well even at the 720p resolution.

                Have you tried MX player?

                Much better than Archos.

On the X2 box is it possible to set it so it turns on as soon as there is power with out having to click the on/off button. We are using it to drive a CCTV spot monitor and want it to turn back on after a power cut. I know the Tronsmart firmware does this but it doesn't seem to support the Ethernet Connection which we need. So is there any way to auto power on the unit when the power is connected??

Upgraded mine to the 1080p firmware and set density to 240 and resolution is workling properly now. Tested video in xbmc and i have some stuff that works good and other stuff that performs horribly. If i test those same clips that play horribly in mx player then they playback great. So seems like xbmc needs to be updated. I saw the zidoo x1 had an update to its zdmc but the apk for it doesnt work for me it just crashes right away. Anyone have any other apks that incorporate same fixes?

Allwinner is not lounched official 1080fw,dont blame them for thet.
On antutu video test, there are only 3 files thet dont play ok,it is nice result for H3.
Mx player is the best player for H3,together with some default
                            video players.

Beelink X2 H3 box VS Amlgic S805 box (MXQ or MXV) which one is better performance.

That may be a tough call.

I have read a few people praising the S805 performance at this price point.

The colour rendition and depth with the H3 is excellent.
