Hi All - First post - so here goes.
Bought a couple of Beelink X2s for Xmas and have been having a play with them.
Have flashed the couple of custom ROMs from this forum and they did make the box run better.
I found the SC_V1.1 rom at least managed to let KODI run smoothly - the standard firmware - not so much
I am quite disappointed by that - but anyway - figured/hoped that someone is actually developing/fixing some of the bugs in the OS to get a bit more performance out of the hardware, so decided to set the box back to standard firmware after seeing mention of the 204 firmware mentioned above. The box updated through the public releases and stopped on 203K4 and thats it.
Anyone have any ideas where/how you can get the 204k4 release? I would really like to try it and see if maybe some things have been fixed.

I didn't try to play 4k video files with the old firmware 202k4,but with the new 204k4,it can play the 4k and 1080p files (with Kodi and Mx player) very smooth.Everything is fine for me.

Yes - I tried the manual update over a couple of days - just says its all up to date.
The version details under android still report 203K4.
On another thread in this forum (sorry not sure which) someone else reports having 'seen' the 204k4 update - but
Has anyone else apart from panlarp actually got the 204k4 update installed?
Maybe they temporarily released an update by accident for a short time?

I have 204k4 installed few minutes ago. Not noticeable problem so far except for the fact that Kodi have disappeared.
I had Kodi 15.2 installed and was removed, so I'll have to install it again.
Anybody know why it was removed?"Rock more than music it's a way of living"

Maybe they are doing something to release the update slowly (he said with his fingers X'd).
guess there are a few of these boxes out in the world now. If they all updated at once....
Would be nice if there was a 'formal' support location for these things - ie manufacturers website.
Info like release notes/what has been fixed etc would be really nice.
I guess thats the problem with no-name cheapies - though How much does a website and a few pages cost?
Daremo - I will be interested to see how kodi 15 works with this. I really wanted this box to stream content around the house from my PC.
I have an increasing amount of HEVC/X.265 video and up until now the X2 has not been coping too well with that - certainly not on the standard firmware.
It wasnt too bad on the superceleron firmware - but I think he has stopped any development on that and I had the hope maybe the X2 manufacturer/support might still be working on the firmware - but its hard to know...
UPDATE: Just tried manual update again and says all is up to date - 204k4 - where are you?Last edited by robjg63; 06 January 2016, 04:57.

In order to test 1080/60 in Kodi 15.2 I have a set of files I pick from Youtube. All worked fine showing 1080 in kodi screen.
it also run some k4 from the same source and display fine (of course in 1080 as I don't want a 4K TV set) with some stuttering.
I usually run flicks in 1080 in Kodi without problems.
If you want me to test some files for you just give the source and I can try it."Rock more than music it's a way of living"

OK - reflashed the box with 106k4.
Once I started the box it displayed there was an update - which it downloaded and installed (70mb). This got the box to 201k4.
Another update was detected - this one was around 2mb - after installing this it was up to 202k4.
One more update - also around 2mb - after installing it is now on 203k4.
There are no signs of any more updates - Running the manual update process says its currently up to date.
Perhaps there is some bug in the update process....

I can see the device tries to access a couple of sites when you try for updates:
fota4.adups.cn
fotadown.mayitek.com
It certainly seems the first site is a site that specialises in in being an over the air (OTA) update provider for numerous companies.
Cant see any way that you can query that site and find a specific update - unfortunately.
Its a pity that the developers dont seem to be looking on this site any more.
