Hi! Must say it is impressive what some are doing for the community. Well done and as i see many appriciate this.
i have a noob question, tho. I see that many have trouble flashing thhis Superceleron.
My question is therefor. Is this a rom for s905 or the s905x? may this be the problem`?
I flashed the XTrom from Xannyteck with no problems on s905x, while superceleron crashes at 2 %. im using usb burning tool. I understand this chipsets are not compatible?
Can this be the solution? For those with this problem i can reccomend the XT-mod, but before the new release you loose wifi and remote. A fix is explained, tho.
Sorry if this have been answered before.
Can some of the many competent users here clear this up?

Well, I installed the ROM - took forever for me to get the reset button down and I had to use my laptop. But, it installed.

Unfortunately, the only button on the remote which works is the power button.

So, back to stock I go until i buy an iPazzPort mini keyboard.

Ok, quick update,

I've managed to pull the broadcom wifi drivers out of system.dat.new on sd card zip firmware sunvell gave me and have tested it in a seperate img image I found from an earlier manufacturer firmware release.

Hopefully I'll be able to get a rom up here for those that come to this thread with the broadcom wifi issue.

superceleron, can I ask - would you be able to share how to change the default launcher at firmware level? Their standard one is absolutely garbage.

i just got a new qbox with the new wifi chip.. ugh. the wifi works but its so slow and cuts out even when placed directly beside my router. have u figured out a way to get the wifi working properly.. i took it apart and the wifi chip says Realtek RTL8723BS

Hello.
I just managed in flashing the rom by using USB_Burning_Tool_v2.0.5.15-build8, as a user suggested in one of earlier posts.
I'm at work now. I haven't tried it it.
If it will work you'll have a beer paid.
By the way: Update the description of the procedure to connect the Qbox to the pc:

1: Install the Usb Burning tool and the drivers that come with it.
2: Launch the software, load the image, do nothing for the moment.
3: Unplug all cables from the QBOX (no power supply, no usb cable connected to the device, you can now only plug one end of the usb cord to the pc)
4: Put the toothpick inside of the tv/audio in and look for the little switch at its end and press it and keep it pressed.
5: With the toothpick still inside of the audio-in and the button still pressed now put the power supply in.
6: Still keeping the toothpick in position you can now plug the usb in the QBOX (first port next to the hdmi one).
7: Now the pc will recognize your tvbox and The Usb Burn tool will recognize it too.
8: You can now press start and flash the rom (I unchecked erase bootloader first)
(Look for the proper Version of the Usb Burn tool for your pc/device, if you did what's written above and nothing happens you're probably using a wrong relase of the Usb burn tool)

superceleron - I saw a post indicating that there is an updated firmware for the QBox 2G/16G. The following is where it can be found:

Looks like the firmware was dated Jan 21, 2017, judging by the post at geekbuying. Any chance you might be willing to update your ROM with this newer version? I'm not sure what the changes are. Might have support for the newer wifi chips that they are using in the current boxes they are selling. I haven't updated my QBox with this to see if it works but will probably do so this weekend, if time permits. I appreciate the work that you have done. The current ROM works nicely on my device.

EDIT: Ignore this post. I should have read the comments a little closer on the link above. Seems this firmware is for the S905X variant of the QBox. Does not work on the S905 version. Wish they would use different names for boxes with different hardware.
