Not the update causing it. Update wont change bootani. Mine is messing up cause i tried to theme a settings apk and messed something up. Boot animation Itself should be good

Is it possible to install the "MINIM8sII port to Tanix Tx5 Pro" modded ROM through a SD Card using the recovery area instead of using "Amlogic USB BurnTool" ?

If so, how to proceed ?

Any tips will be welcome... :-)

I have the Nexbox A95x 2gb/16gb (no resect button in av hole). Have been trying to flash this ROM with USB Burn tool (v2.0.8) and keep getting errors on the bootloader erase and can't seem to get past this point. Have tried different usb connections on computer (Win7) and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling USB Burn tool and drivers....have tried both Normal Erase and Force Erase......still a no go. Any ideas on how to get this to work?? Log from USB tool is attached, I hope it may provide some info for those who are more adept at this than me. Looks like I may now be soft-bricked. Any and all suggestions much appreciated.

I have the same problem with my Nexbox A5. The trick is to start the burning tool, wait until you got your "[0x00101004]Erase bootloader/Lowper/Identify/Error" Then WITHOUT pressing stop unplug your usb and re-plug it. It should restart by itseft without error.

Sometime my Nexbox device gave me temp error, to fix those you just have to increse the max temp in the USB Burn tool settting to 60.

your last version of the Frankenstein Firmware is a bit unstable on my Nexbox A5 2G/16G. Apps really often close by themselves because of error, mostly Kodi.

Good think compare to the stuck firmware that was ship with the box is that with the Frankenstein FW in kodi I can read all video but h265 8bit. And the box doesn't load in safe mode if leave on over night!
The audio passthrough fix does not seem to work any more. Dolby Digital was good but not when transcoding to DD. But DTS is just horible. In kodi all codec was working but the one that was working better was amcodec. It was possible to let all codec on without having an issus for playing a video file.
I also did the update script and try the external player (MX and VLC) but nothing is playing with MX the screen flash once and come back and with VLC it's a black screen.


I also try the new stock updated firmware from Nexbox 20160806.
With this one the box is a lot more stable. Almost never got an error.
But I could not play most of the video file in kodi. Amcodec was not present and both mediacodec didn't play nice with any audio passthough and some video encoding. I also could not get the external player working.

Then I rooted and change the UBOOT of the stock updated firmware from Nexbox 20160806 following the forum tuto.
The Box was then unstable but not as much as with the Frankenstein FW. I was able to read all video file including h265 8bit. Dolby Digital was skiping from time to time (limit to watchable, but not what you expect) and DTS was horrible. In kodi all codec was working but the one that was working better was amcodec. It was possible to let all codec on without having an issus for playing a video file.

Same here with all my AML box (I use 2.05.15 usb tool).

For instability issues in Kodi turn amcodec off. Try turning off cec on your TV to stop box from turning off.

It looks as if the amcodec has no real use for the newer AML boxes anyway.

I finally got scripting right but i get no picture for the animation. Just black screen. Any thoughts?

UPDATE:
**I've tried every usb port on my Win7 computer (3-2.0 ports and 2-3.0 ports) and for every port change I've had to reinstall the drivers.........UBS Burn tool connects then run into same error (which looks like a low power error) anywhere from 2-10 seconds into the process.
**I've tried what bluesmanuk suggested: "Try the USB cable and then plug in the power then just to see if that works." I've done this again with every usb port on computer....same result.....low power error
**I've tried loading image into USB burn tool, connecting power to box, and then connecting box to computer. When I do this, USB burn tool doesn't recognize the box. I have to unplug the usb, unplug the power, and then plug usb back in.....USB then recognizes box and starts the process. I then plug in the power and STILL a NO GO....low power error

I'm at my wits end.......don't know what else to try.
FYI, the Nexbox has 2 usb ports and I've tried all of this with the one farthest away from the sd card slot. The only other thing I can think to try is the entire process all over again using the usb port closest to the sd card slot.
Maybe try another usb-to-usb cable???? Of which I don't have and will have to order.
Maybe this box is just a DUD!!!

UPDATE 2: Am up and running Frankenstein
I tried everything listed in "UPDATE" above on 2 different versions of USB Burn Tool. First v2.0.8 and then 2.0.5 and got same results.......low power error 2-10 seconds in.
Just tried mallox's suggestion (see post #517) with the same results as before.....a NO GO......on both v2.0.8 and 2.0.5.....
I then decided to give it one more "college try"....Uninstalled USB tool yet again.....Ran CCleaner and IOBit Uninstaller to clean up any residual files, yet again.....Shut down computer yet again....
Reinstalled USB v2.0.8 and tried one more time.......this time it worked.....WTH......this is enough to make you want to pull your hair out or become an alcoholic!!!

Yeah finally. It's a great looking ROM but....I keep getting Google Play Services has stopped. I have installed your ROM and applied all the updates. Any idea how to fix this issue??
