Also a favor to make sure it is not me...can someone test tx5 pro firmware below..It might just be a fluke but i think wifi was better with this one. This is the original firmware with issues. But i think wifi was better

There was talk that one of the MINIM8SII updates done a lot to improve WIFI, I only use a wired connection so cannot comment unfortunately...I'll see if I can find the post....

Testing on the Mini M8S II, the remote works perfect. Only 2 buttons don't work, MEDIA and APP but we can live without those.

I've been playing with the Customization Tool (excellent program I must say!) and I was wondering if anyone knows a shell command to set the default launcher?

I'm using a modified preinstall.sh to unpack a gzip and install my apks (Thanks to Abdul_PT!) and I was thinking it would be nice to just set the default launcher at the end of this script. I already have it restoring my launchers data/customized shortcuts by just adding another variable SYSDATA=/data/data/ and this line after the datapack extraction:

busybox tar xzf $PKGS/sysdata.tar.gz -C $SYSDATA 2>&1 | tee $LOG

Mods: I know that's quite a distance from the OP. Where would be the best place to discuss Amlogic Customization Tool?

Stock YouTube does not exist but it is in launcher and causes the box to reboot when entering. Play store YouTube only plays in 480

Hi DNIZoid, are you replying to my Youtube issue? I have not updated firmware yet since I am not sure if anyone else faced this issue before (always asking to select Cast device and goto Cast device instead of playing it on TX5). Since I am not seeing anyone else reporting this, not sure if firmware update can resolve it. I have contacted banggood but no reply yet

replace superuser with supersu
add fix for passthrough for testing
add fix for autorefresh for testing
add init.d
add the remote.conf to img
add update scripts so you don't have to flash brand new every time and pull down from server


Am i missing anything and should I remove the kodi build stuff?

Yes a bit better on wifi.... not much but seem some improvement

Please leave the xbmc_preinstall functionality in tact. Maybe just delete the included build if that's desired.

That sounds about right.

I did add the fix for passthrough and autorefresh earlier but got green or corrupt screens when loading Kodi or SPMC.

I would remove the org.xbmc.kodi.zip, which will reduce the size of the ROM and start with a clean install.

It also nods in the direction of not being seen to potentially support the piracy addons.

There are plenty of automated mass install utilities out there for those that want to go down that route.

Might even be worth adding SPMC in as that is the one fork that looks to be getting some specific AMLogic support.

Hello experts. I still have stock firmeare and my youtube problem is different than what everyone posted here (green screen)
Youtube on my TX5 PRO keeps asking "Touch to connect and play videos" and show/highlight Chromcast option on right corner and only option is to select "OK"
I caant enter/search or play any video on youtube.

I use YouTube for Android TV and it works perfect with this fimrware. Google com.google.android.youtube.tv to find the proper apk.

prahjister, can you add YouTube for Android TV to the build as well? Everyone likes YouTube and this one is remote friendly with 1080p support.
