Hi all! I am looking to get a replacement for my Fire TV1. I read some good things and some bad things about this box here. Would you recommend buying it? There's a sale at Gearbest and I could get it for around 60€ which seems to be a really good price.

Would you buy it again or would you buy another box? An answer is really appreciated! Thanks!

Edit: right now I either buy this box or an Xiaomi MI Box. What would you guys pick?

          Hi All,

Just scanned this entire thread looking for a solution for a wifi / bluetooth issue, but could not see one.
(apologies if this has been solved)

Just received an Alfawise H96 Pro+ from Gear Best seemed to be working fine, but after a factory reset the wifi dies after 5 minutes and the bluetooth will not detect other devices and other devices cant properly detect it.

I have also tried using the WPS connection option to connect via wifi to no avail.
Android Box is in a bedroom directly above Wifi Router so range is not an issue.

Wifi will only temporarily come back if I turn the unit off again, but again will only last 5 minutes.

Will flashing to an alternative rom fix this such as SuperCeleron V2?

I have ordered a set of powerline adapaters to make use of the ethernet port, but concerned this device is just faulty.

Details of box are as follows:
          Android version:
          6.0.1

          Kernel version:
          3.14.29
          mly@czkj #4

          Build Number:
          MHC19J20170327 test-keys

          Many thanks,
          Stephen

Flyover87 try changing the postion of the antennas on your router instead of strait up try at a 45% angle they are directional . they antenna built in the box is on top of the motherboaard inside so also try laying the case on its side .

Thx for the reply wwmoggy, but adjusting box or router angle makes no difference. I'm sure its either faulty hardware or a software bug.

                Heya, @ Flyover87,
Did you reset the box via the update software>reset or by the reset pin hole? Have you tried to reset the box again using the other method?
Scooter2014 Has posted some good options for mod firmware. http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...s-ddr4-version

Maybe superceleron's GT1 Ultimate flash and wifi fix can be flashed to your firmware? http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...l-android-ddr4

Mine is working fine, i dont know if i'll install the latest update or not (i've buyed a usb a to a), while i have installed a pigtail from an old router, the result is in the pic, i think that is a god position, because is firmly attached to the case.

                        Heya, @ Flyover87,

I just returned from family and they now have a Gigabit cable router. Wow .
                        Oh wait, no wow .
Now one box(24' away) will connect at 2G ...30 ish Mbps, 5G fails and continually tries to reconnect . The other box(8' away) will no longer connect for more that 2 sec and disconnect and reconnect continually with either band.

I'll have to figure out and do magic tech support once again.

Considering 6 works and 7 sucks pretty much sums it up without much detail. Ui piss poor. Video play sad. Ya needs alot of tweeks fixes and help.....
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.

Well because I know bullet type normally perdy good on signal and should be way above. I did some cheap mod tests involving a roll of electrical tape. (Not the whole roll but pieces and after few tries I got great wifi again.) Heres the route I took.

                              1- Opened box
2- Removed the Two screws holding board.
3- noticed with board in place and bullet cord so close to chip (short cord)
4- Removed board took bullet type off the pad.
5- moved it as far away from wifi as i could using electrical tape to hold it in place as i tested board fit.
6- Once i got it so as far as I could without putting stress on cable. (Really crap design for placement)
7- I put electrical tape over entire bullet and left one small piece at the end of wire about 1/8 of inch.
8- put all back together and tested. Wifi maxing 22-23 where it was getting 2-6 download.before upload still jumping bit but think that is firmware issue but ill test more. So easy mod for those that dont want to add a antenna or do soder ect.

Hope helps some as wifi seems to interfer with chips being so close.
