There is also the Short the nan option. Try that and reflashing original device software. I used that on a few boxes that just wouldnt work. Last resort kinda deal. Sometimes booting into mask mode saves the day.

Can i ask does Rii i8 works out of the box or do I need to re map it first to use on my H96 pro box ?.

Is your wifi currently terrible? My limited test ...only ranges from 12" to 48" away from the AC router at 5 GHz. I would get at that short range ...peaks of 180 Mbps(22.5MBps) with a mean average of 120 Mbps(15MBps).
My 2.4 GHz testing was steady around 32-36 Mbps(4.5MBps).

Unlike my other China-Boxes, these H96 Pro+ had never tasted the end of an ethernet plug. There was little reason to go that route.

Anyone have some numbers at distance or through walls?

I thought it was slow and only showing 1 bar on wifi icon,but I swapped over to 5Ghz on router and getting an average of 36MBps on speedtest.net my router is in another room about 8 meters away from my box so not to bad after all.
i searched on YouTube to see if anyone had wifi problems with their box's and came across adding an external antenna to improve range, also came across other makes's of boxes that had the internal antenna under the motherboard causing poor signal and range but luckily enough on this box it's on the top side. Looks easy enough to add an external one

• Fixed power on from full shutdown with the IR Remote on some boxes!

• By default the rom is not rooted, so if yo want root enable it in settings.
• Power Menu also ported from Ugoos!

• Fixed Xbox360 gamepad that showed power menu on dpad left, so no need to xposed fix!
• RGB fix now its on the "stock" android settings(Display)... Can also use the app included.

Bugs V2:

• My Proper RGB FIX you need to flash this RGB FIX by recovery, you will after this experience some power off problems(it take some tries to fully power off...) and sleep led problem!
• Only update "su" if you are going to to stay at root if are not going to stay at root and you are going to be doing a lot of changes between the two dont update it! Or you will get a boot animation loop...
• On Mx Player disable in the settings the "Playback settings/ HDMI self-adaption", or else you may(or not) experience some screen going black(but i think this is more a tv problem than a rom problem...)
• You may loose sound when enable my rgb fix on my kernel only (disconnect the hdmi cable and connect it again to solve it)
• Miracast only work if the box its connected to a N wifi network(it wont work on AC) and in Miracast setting change to SD resolution, and it should work but sometimes takes some tries.
• Ugoos Firefly only works on their kernel...

A small bug, the 1º time the box boots after flash, its not working it only start working after 1º reboot/shutdown.
• Removed background logging.
• CEC disabled by default.
• Fixed auto frame switch in kodi. It only works on FTMC(included) SPMC 16.5.5, on kodi 16.1 doesn't work because is to old(misses a lot of fixes for the new S9xx devices), Kodi 17 its a it and miss this days!
• Gapps Updated!
• Added Xposed Framework
• Other small fixes and optimizations!

Bugs:

• Power On from full shutdown not working with the remote
• Home in setting to change the default launcher it crashes, use pop up for now!

I am not trying to complain, but can you please do me a huge favor and add some basic instructions in your first post? I spent 4+ hours trying to flash this and getting nowhere I decided to re-read everyones issues in all of these threads (multiple rom posts). I finally got to page 6 of this one where I see someone say to rename the img to "update.img" and edit the ini. I think you could save your followers lots of time by either writing out a basic how-to-flash-my-roms post or even adding this info to a text file included with your roms. It was also not super easy finding the card flashing utility (most of the links I ended up finding were down).

And now, thank you very much for this rom. I havent tested it yet as it just completed its first boot after flashing. My last rom stopped booting, so I am already happy.

I will totally agree with your assessment. It failed three times, last try was newest firmware from 4pda.ru.
I've contacted Fasttech and will see if they can repair faulty unit(how much $$, shipping and time) Shipping to China costs an arm and leg. Hopefully they respond after their New Year.

Hi can you open box. Push in two clips at rear box right side will come up when you gently pull it slowly pry sidwatys as you pull apart. Once lid off two small screws come off the board. Lift gently from hdmi side (carefully as wifi attach at other side of board. Check your ram chips you may have a bonus not a reject.... Dd4 ram on mine
