Slightly of topic, how do I change the stock launcher main tiles on the home screen, not the small one you can add, as when I updated to the newest firmware update I lost you tube and kodi so I reinstalled them from play store but they don't open when I click on the main tiles on the home screen, is there any setting for the stock launcher? If not then will flash this custom rom but I like the stock launcher
    thanks

I could be wrong but I think hdmi should be left unplugged when flashing with a PC over a usb cable . and no power cable to box the usbcable provides the power when flashing

I think it's dead even the PC doesn't recognize the device. Some one a other option?

roerbakeitje, I would venture that your China-Box is bricked. I had the same result on a box from FastTech.
Screen had the "update bar"....finished...reboot...and dead. I had made sure "Erase Bootloader" was not selected and that ended in a learning experience. It is safer to flash via cable..from my trials with these H96 Pro+ (Out of 6 boxes from FastTech, only three were ok-ish.)

FastTech offered only $20 as a refund. Their "no questions asked guarantee" is extremely questionable.
I returned the 3 wonky boxes back to FastTech via Paypal for a full refund.

Just a few thoughts for the sparce info you provided.
                          1. Does the unit light up at all (dim blue vs. bright blue?)
                          2. If yes to the above, did you try to switch HDMI ports after the China-Box would have booted (60+ secs.)?
                          3. Did you wait 10+ minutes to see if the box would boot (keeping T.V. Hdmi port active) unplugging waiting several minutes and trying again?
                          4. If, trying to flash by cable, did you try waiting and hold the reset for minutes(!) to see if your computer finally recognizes the China-Box?
(Barring any problems from flash-tool as I've had it fail(drivers) after rebooting the computer.

Just a few suggestion to yourself and others...(from experience!)

blue light is bright as far as I know..I mean it looks same as it did the only time it worked...
switched ports and tvs and hdmi cords as well. never shows its connected
not sure how long I sat there could have been 10 or more many times

I didnt hold the reset button for minutes..I thought I was supposed to release it ..maybe I need to try holding longer

Just a faint hope. Very faint, some of the boxes have delayed boot cycles(power/HDMI initialization). Some variables that make each box inconsistent. My reliable Alfawise choked the other day and took 2 mins to power-up. I've had one typically take from 30 sec. to 7 min. Last one would delay almost 10 mins...to power-up and frequently fail on reboots and had to be unplugged for several minutes.

You may notice the optical/SPDIF port has a red light. If the red light is fluctuating, the China-Box will more than likely fail to boot until it shows a steady light.

Same goes for trying to flash by cable. If the boot cycle is choked, the China-Box will be delayed to initialize in the flash-tool. (I also tried upgrading/downgrading the flash-tool...a mess...had to uninstall. Keep to version 2.0.5..17?...2.0.8? did me no good.)

As mentioned (in this thread?) that PayPal may help pay for returns...GearBest had a free return policy...and your VISA? may have a no lemon guarantee.

Red light is also on steady......gearbest wanted me to pay to send the unit to china and they also deducted from the orginal cost for some reason ...basically told me they would give me $77 back after I sent it to china. that was a net of $47. instead of that I told them send me a new one and I would tinker with this. I had to pay a small amount for the new one. I may not even unwrap it. My beelink GT1 at least works.

                                this junk never did
