ok lewy, just ran a test

first i installed mcs7830.ko as custom.ko on SDCARD, rebooted twice..... then i inserted the USB Ethernet device, rebooted with wifi disabled

still not getting an IP, looks like the build in hardware now is conflicting with the USB Ethernet not want to enable ?

        any ideas ?

          go to settings>terminal
          type su and press enter
then type lsmod and hit enter again.
check if you can see the ethernet module you used.

yes fresh install of your firmware, flashed it last night, so its clean

and that driver is the one i also used on my MK808 from your module pack on 2.2.4 only now i used the one provided in your 3.1.8.8 mod pack

on MK808 it works, here it doesnt

looks like it android recognizes the internal ethernet and overrides the USB one for some reason

i dont see any nfs modules in your lsmod output.
can someone else do lsmod and post back if nfs modules are loaded?

                  as of ethernet.
go to terminal conect "ethernet usb dongle" and type

                        doesnt work

i used netcfg to show what was UP wlan0 stays up

when i disable wlan i can enable netcfg eth1 up, but it doesnt get an IP either,

when i do a wlan0 up it shows me a IP when checking again. the other stays @ 0.0.0.0

                          how about this part ?

as u can see, the system recognizes the USB Ethernet, so i think its a software problem somewhere

u mean, use the drivers from the MK808 ?

so grab those, rename them to custom1.ko and see if they work ?

                                no.
grap them from mk808 (if they are there) and put to same location on k-r42
but dont have high hopes for it to work:"
