hello

Hi, i have installed the latest version on my tv box, it appears to all work well, but i keep getting random resets, i cant seem to find a reason for them, or what causes them. i can be watching youtube for a while and with no warning, just resets itself.
this happens on all applications, can work fine for a few minutes, or a few hours, but does not seem to be any patten. any help???

Have a look on K-R42 firmware by wasser and perhaps you can fix it if you only try newer kernel (only flash a newer kernel)...

Hi,

I just got one of these boxes. First thing i did was download this rom and flash. End result no output from HDMI or Composite. I have flashed twice and the same result. The latest version has some kind of issue, my Samsung tv sees something on the hdmi port but cannot detect a signal.

I´ll try another rom for the time being

I think i do not have an original k-r42 , i think i have AC8350 (BX09)
That is why the HFW is not working i think ,
Any way to add support for this box too ?

HELP: Flashed with firmware and now won't boot

Hi,

I tried flashing my unit with wasser using the program where there are multiple checkmarks and files. It said successful but when I tried to boot my device it would show the splash screen for a couple minutes and then the screen would go black and the device would shut off (blue power light off). I tried flashing back to lewy20041 firmware using the program where you just select one image file. It said successful and when I boot the device up now it had lewy's splash screen on it but it does the same...splash screen for a minute, and then device does a full power off. Its like its missing a file or something. I don't think its the device as it was fine before. I am kind of a neewbie with this. Do I need to r-flash it with a certain file and/or program to fix? i appreciate anyones help. The device is a paper weight now unless I can fix somehow.

Just to say my unit appears to be a 2.1 rev if that helps. I also tried justxbmc which boots fine although I think I would prefer a more full featured ROM.

The big problem is that my unit looks inside exactly the same as yours but I've got no issue with Ethernet LAN or HDMI output with Lewy20041 HFW 2.0.x ROMs. But some recent updates for RK3188 kernel breaks LAN for me when in the same time fix it for others who had problems before when I hadn't. The only visible difference is week of production (and angle of radiator). Mine is from 29th and yours from 40th week of 2013. I heard about many problems with seemingly similar hardware and it isn't looking good for clarity.

P.S. I checked again your picture and noticed that you have different NAND Flash and memory modules. But from such low quality picture I cannot decipher if it can have any impact on kernel configuration (vide RAM speed).

I think you are right about the nand flash .
when i used wasser latest rom 1.2.1 , the nand flash was not mounting .
causing some compatibility issues with some apps,
so i went back to justxbmc 1.1.1 and here the nand is mounted correctly ,
still lan is not working though.

A little better but it is still hard to read exact memory module type.
Could you make some close ups of these chips. For the best resoult use macro function of your camera.

I installed the Beta v2.0.3 firmware to my device.
However, th Skype seems not working proprely.
Once I call someone it is going to restart the Skype and that is all.
Any advice to resolve the issue.
Otherwise the Beta v2.0.3 rocks!

I am having the same issue with this and all of lewy20041's roms currently. Im using a logitech c920. Skype used to work great. Maybe it is something in the skype apk?

CS918 new rom from China

This version is much better then I tried before on CS918 NObt, everything works fine, including power on/off, resolution and smooth UI.
PS:first time reboot if nothing output from HDMI, you should use composite video and goto setup to change screen scale(max. or min.) and reboot.
