help No screen /purple screen red led

help needed,
i tried to flash my box g18ref to a normal firmware
i used recovery.zip image and all went well tried to install version 11.5 on the box that went well untill reboot have had a black screen for 1 hour and now when trying to get in recovery i cant get in only an occasionally purple flickering on screen and then black screen and nothing

red led on the box is constant on.

about the sd tool does not work in win 7 so the u bin method is deadend i quess

use bennibennasi's method with the sd card and toothpick method and it should be ok. I have win 7 and i was able to create the bootable sd card image of bennibenasi

well i tried that sdmaker program used u.bin from the recovery but result is the same a purple screen every now and then and then black

ok i tried that Benninie approach and got as far as seeing reboot recovery again. after install 2 errors but that is ok then i pulledpower cable and insterted it again box wont fire up so i repeated the procedure and gave the reboot from the menu tv says "nosignal" so something not quiet right but closer any more ideas?

Can someone advise how i go about resolving this issue i am having.

When powering on box, blue light is on solid but no signal on tv, nothing at all.

when i insert a sd card, then it boots to recovery itself without having to hold reset button in av hole. Is this right?

I have tried many different methods with different fw and some just are going in a loop with the android robot but before this I get a purple/lime green screen and then the robot. Some i tried takes you to the android recovery menu and you do get the 2 errors but when i unplug device and remove sd, same no signal but with sd inserted, same process starts again. I have even tried applying update from ext which completes but when re-booting without sd, same no signal but with sd card inserted same process starts again as if this is in a loop.

hoping someone can help me resolve this as i have been trying for a few days now but may just need some assistance.

Try re flashing the box with stock firmware which can be found here: http://www.acemax.net.cn/en/shownews.asp?id=126 it should repair the boot sector (use toothpick method).

Didnt work for me , will try an matricom firmware

This did not work for me either. Its strange though when holding reset button i get a purple or sometime lime green screen and then the android robot. is this normal?

sometime i do not even have hold reset button but just insert sd card and it automatically goes into recovery!

Leon, as for the SD tool in win7, windows xp mode is freely available by Microsoft.
The SD tool did work for me in xp mode.

I think i tried 6 or 7 firmwares, including from acemaxx.
